Relatively new to this forum... so far I've found its participatory population is well representing of the INTP type and by the transitive property people who think in a similar way to me. Just going to ask a multi-part question:
1. What kind of music do you listen to/like/admire (may be different)
2. Does your preference in music change depending on your mood or can your static choice in music be used to significantly alter (I don't mean like a depressed to melancholy state, I mean a change of angry to peaceful state)

1. I like to listen to progressive rock (King Crimson, Yes, Rush, etc.), Folk (Bob Dylan), smattering of new or other stuff (Arcade Fire, Muse, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Elliot Smith, David Bowie). I listen to classical music when I can, and probably admire that above all.

2. Yes to both. I will naturally seek out music that is representative of my mood, but I am also capable of changing my mood by listening to particular types of music.

Welcome EFM

1.) Good music. :p
2.) All kinds of fluctuations. Current preference isn't limited by "genre", other descriptors are involved too. After all, a rose by any other name is still a rose, I think.

We must have a chat sometime. :)

1. Anything with guitar in it.
2. Unfortunately, I do not think I can use music to change my mood. Instead, the music I listen to mirrors my mood at the time. I wish I could I could just listen to Jimi Hendrix all day and maintain that carefree attitude about life, but I am not always in the mood and instead have to listen to Metallica or SotD.

I do both. I won't put on anything too emotional though if I'm not in the right mood, instead opting for something more sombre or energetic.

It's annoying when there's something specific you want to listen to, but you have no idea what. Just gotta keep going through bands until you find it, or don't. rahh
