Are we best mating (living together) with our kind of animal psychological types, I mean close ones, the flying types, INTJ, INTP, INFP, (Hawk, Eagle, Dragon) and perhaps INFJ (Skylark) or even ENFP (Butterfly), or do we fare better with the extravert versions ENTJ, ENTP, ENFP, ENFJ. (Wolf, Snake, Ferret, Beaver).

I have tried the Artisans (SP) and soon lost it at the mind level. The absence of the meeting of the minds has just not compatible. That is the ISFP Cat, and there a few of them running loose.

For paying the bills, a SJ is rather useful. Alas, it is probably going to be a ISFJ and these are very nice people, but the mind-meld problems still occur.

I think I like the Sparrowhawks but so does everybody else. Its the talons that turn me on. There are more of them and I cannot tell them apart from INTPs Eagles which are very rare. Hawks still may run at two small a number to go around. Might only be 1% in my circles. Eagles are about 0.1% if that and probably not. Dogs (ISTJ), Rodents (ISFJ -ISTJ), Horses (ESFJ), seem the commonest currently. Bears (ISTP) are found in thw woods getting lost amongst all them trees. And at the Bear Flag Cafe.

With a family support structure, the mating of different animal types can function OK. Or with any support where the two parties can find missing parts of their personalities outside the nest. INTPs may be loners like Eagles. I have to morph-shift at the feeding grounds (work) and watering holes (social: watering hole is the slang name for pubs in England). I don't want to morph-shift (called movement) at the nest.

Snakes (ENTP) can get left on the shelf. They spook the Horsemen (ESFJ) and find themselves excluded.

Hm, i can't say anything about that, since i haven't tried 'mating' out yet ;)

Why is it that in most of the profiles they say the exact opposite should be the best? I find that a bit strange.

I think they have a theory of a more rounded personlity.

The trouble with the introspectives is that the iNtuition can be in completely different fields. That makes communication rather tricky.

If the mid-meld can't work, one partner just gets bored (me). A mixture of judging and perceiving should be OK if not too extreme. Most arguments occur here though.

I am not surprised that many people prefer to be single though.

I thought I did a poll for this one.

Anyrate, yesterday, I met a soulmate (rated about 7) but her mindmate rating was very low (about 3). Playmate was low to (about 4), Helpmate likely to be the same (about 4). 12 steps on the scale.

I wonder how I figure. I expect my soulmate rating is (3 to 12), mindmate (about 7), playmate (3 to 9), helpmate (3 to 8).

A new way of assessing people. She wants me to fix the electrical wiring (Helpmate), and play games (I'm open for it!)

Socionics claims ESFP is the best for INTP. An EF would drive me crazy if I had to live with them. This is one area in which I think Socionics is blethering - I would certainly want an I, and preferably an IT.

It might be quite good for me. I could be, at a pinch XNXP. SJs could drive me crazy, ad ESFJs are a nightmare, but I think I might prefer a ESXP, or ESTP. As an almost maximum Perceiver, it is the Js that cause me grief.

With Fs, if it goes below 5, I will just get frustrated and bored. I like feelings, but mostly I like good ambience, but I do not even know if it is the same thing? This might be intuition ? As I am almost maximum at N as well.

I have not looked into Socionics. Is there a recommended link please? I'kll try Wiki before bed.

Every EF I've ever met has struck me as being loud. They seem always busy and always talking and always around people. I don't know how I could put up with one of those in my house - I've never had to suffer it, aside from my gran (who's at my house more often than not), who I frequently find annoying. Luckily, when my parents are here, she just stirs them (she's a matriarchal ESFJ). An IT or even an IF would be greatly preferably to an EF, and probably to an ET. Another concern is that an EF would see me as cold and emotionless, as EFs have a tendency to do to ITs. Another IT would understand that I'm subdued and rational, not cold-hearted, however.

http://www.socionics.com/ is Socionics, by the way. They have a very good test, the Socionics Type Assistant. The turbo version is also good when you want to quickly type someone.

It's a different theory than MBTI though. Not all MBTI INTP's are socionics INTp's.

Perseus, why the hell would you want an ESTP? Taken from typelogic...
These are the ultimate realists. Extraverted Sensors are at one with objects and experiences now, in the only living, pulsing moment that ever really exists.

Feeling plays an important role in a favorite pastime of ESTPs. This is not to say that ESTPs don't care deeply for others, yet Feeling is such a ready hand-puppet, expedient in disarming the "victim" and exposing the jugular.

Activities involving great power, speed, thrill and risk are attractive to the ESTP. Chronic stifling of these impulses makes the ESTP feel "dead inside."

Persons of this type have a natural drive to best the competition. Some of the most successful salespersons are ESTPs.

How do any of these qualities sounds good to you? Is it the natural drive to be better than everyone at everything, or one where they use feelings to "go for the jugular"?

Blegh... I think I might hate the description of ESTPs even more than the one for ESFJs... but I don't know any ESTPs (I don't think), so it doesn't matter.

Myt friend who is an ISTP is a great fan of roller coasters. Taken from the SP combination, I think.

ENFPs and I tend to get along fairly well. Actually I think ENFPs are the only types that I've had a relationship with. Weird huh?

I think that any E would start getting on my nerves soon, maybe unless they were ENxx.
My bf is most likely an INTJ. (that's what he tested as, and the characteristics are also quite fitting.) We are very content in our imaginative world but it's not so easy when reality strikes and demands our attention XD But I'm glad that he's an N too.
"Strange" is that we really enjoy telling loving words to each other... even after two years of being a couple. In the book about personality types I've read that this is very uncharacteristic for NTs... But as far as I remember it's actually my only aspect that doesn't fit in the characteristics of INTP or of NTs :P

Hmmm... I don't mind Es, and I don't mind Fs as long as they aren't mega Fs. xNxP I can do. I have a bunch of INFP friends. And I like ENTPs. As to ESFPs being the perfect match... Ha. My sister is one of those, and while she's admittedly a lot of fun, she's also a bit materialistic/superficial. Although, I think she's smarter than she thinks she is... Younger sibling complex and all. Eh. I leave it alone.
