leaning toward the first wave 60's/70's stuff. pastoral, ethereal and sentimental with a deep sense of nativity and justice. occasionally political.

the playlist contains my primary recommendations for anyone interested in discovering this area of music.

if you have further suggestions, do share. don't say comus though. comus is good but doesn't quite cut it for this purpose. and no additional songs from acts already included. and no traditionals - originals only. of course you can link anything but those are the criteria for playlist inclusion.

lol just realized the first track in the list breaks my own rule by being a traditional :( oh whatever, fuck the law 8-)

Not that I mind that song (its pretty ace) Crippli but it's quite outa context :O

The again the inclusion of the Manson song kinda seems to fuck it up a bit anyway, it's not as far off but it begs the question of why other superior songs such as those of Leonard Cohen were not included.

Yes, do include Leonard Cohen. First person to come to mind.

Don't know if you'd consider Traffic's John Barleycorn must Die but if not, great folk tune!

So only rock? No progressive, metal folk, post 70 stuff?

thx for suggestions! will get back on those

Blarraun: spirogyra did a very proggy folkrock. as long as it has the right feel, it's fine. and feel free to share any folksy music in this thread, whether fit for the playlist or not.
