hi im intp and i never registered just lurked thru the forums. why? because its intp nature to be a hermit. and honestly, this personality test is a break thru in science cuz i think its cool to type people its accurate but i need to do more research on it i dont do research on mbti cuz its intp trait to be lazy and im P to the core.

i want to learn many things but im very lazy i want to learn abou everything. i am deeply interested in philosphy and pyschology, self-fullfilling prophecy. My dream ideal ennegram is a 5 which is the one who wants to know how everything works. i am a senior in high school and i want to major in economics because corporations, economic theory, and the whole intricate web tangle of international business excites me. i have above average intelligence and i feel uncomofortable typing this atm. typical lack of F intp trait. ive never had a girlfriend lol

plz read this short article i promise you it is interesting, its my deep interest in psychology.

Here we go about the ego again:).
When the ego fades, which is really just your mind imagining yourself to be this or that, or that you SHOULD be this or that, and you allow yourself to be as you are, then you are that.
When you are in your head, concerned with outcomes, thinking logically etc, you are stifled and controlled.
When you are loose and flowing, when each moment is just another moment and what happens just happens, then you are unstifled.

Check for tension in your body. I find if there is physical tension, its usually accompanied by or caused by mental tension, the ego at work. When you find the tension, relax it, and you may feel/become aware of a thought or belief you were not even aware of, disappear.

i was also thinking very deeply about empiricism and i believe that true knowledge must only come from experience. i have more interestings to say but i fear people will judge me in a weird way LOL even tho fellow intp

i feel like im confessing my soul to the world ahhahahaa ridicilious but i feel tension arising

/fear

Re: Thread

"P to the core" == laziness? Huh?

And that's your excuse for not reading about theories? Really?

I'm not sure what you are getting at with the ego thing, but fading ego means being overtaken by the id or superego which isn't a good thing. Fading ego is a problem if you are interacting with the world at all (i.e. not meditating or sleeping).

Being controlled is a good thing really. Unless you are talking about being controlled by someone, which doesn't really make sense given the context.

Welcome, ijustprotectedmyidentity. I hope you have fun in the discussions.

You seem to be defining yourself, and us, by how you see INTPs: lazy overcontrolled hermits. The MBTI is useful and interesting, but personality type is descriptive, not prescriptive. Most of us do not define ourselves by these traits, though we might complain of their effect on our lives.

Another thing INTPs are known for is a mastery of language. It would be much more pleasant to read your ideas if you used proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

It is completely understandable that you want to experiment with living in the now, and act on instinct, and let go of tension. But not all self-control leads to tension and being stifled. It can also lead to self-respect, competence, and confidence. It is true that being overcontrolled can be a problem, but anything taken to an extreme is a problem. Self-control is often a great strength for INTPs, rather than a liability.

Kinda stressing the same point here; INTP is a classification, not a definition.

And welcome, you seem quite interesting.

Welcome. Most INTPs I've met, however, find that they do a lot of reading on wiki to find the answers to their questions. (Unless, of course, they're not already at the computer.) The description, however, is also not a crutch to say that you can't improve. So try researching! :)
