I really don't belong in a big school...

I just don't. The school that I am going into has 5000-6000 kids. I went to a walk-around today to find where all of my classes are and it was crowded with only freshmen and some juniors. (I am guessing most people on this forum are like this)
I was only there for about 3 hours and I feel drained. Everyone there was walking really fast and talking and laughing. I was walking slowly and looking at the ground.
...ugh...

I read this and thought I'd check how many students the school I'm thinking about maybe going to had. It was 37000. That is just... wow. The school I'm currently studying at has maybe 700 students and I feel like even that might be a little too much.

Look at it in this way: possibility of meeting stimulating people increases.

...and there's probably about a 100 students that are so close to your identity.

As much as people tend to stress me out, I'm really not so bothered by crowds unless they are trying to engage me somehow, or disrupt my activities.

As long as I can keep my mental isolation from them, which is what I always do anyway, all is good and I don't even notice them.

I can't isolate myslef. The hallways are like rivers and I have five minutes to walk the distance it usually takes me to walk about ten.

As long as they don't walk so slowly that they ruin your flow in terms of walking toward your destination. The only thing that I hate about crowds... well mostly tourists here in SF is that they all stop to look at something... walk in rows of three... walk slowly and such... and that's when they annoy me because I usually walk fast and then I end up having to walk around them dodging things along the way. It's fun, but annoying.

To be honest, I think it's sad that you guys don't like talking to people or like being in huge crowds. It's pretty fun just to observe people and what they do in a crowd. They usually think that no one is watching them do something, but heck I know that I've see people do some pretty odd and random stuff.... Think of it this way, if I were in a crowd with one of you guys, you better know that I'm definitely watching you... Not in a stalker-ish kind of way, though.:storks:

if you havent noticed already, you are part of a big world too. find a club, group of friends, or common activity to purposefully narrow down your worldview and make it more manageable. what do you perceive as the benefits to a smaller institution? if its only more room to operate, choose night classes and bypass the crowds. if its something more, you could always transfer...

I wish I was in a big school so bad. The people I have as friends currently can't give me anything worthwhile intellectually, and the remainder of the 120 people age group I am in is just incredibely sad. I am incredibely bored, and have been for the last 3.5 years since the only person who could say something of interest and wasn't a complete moron in many other ways left my secondary school. I can't even go to his school which is so close because my visa doesn't allow meto go to semi-privat schools and my dad doesn't have the 20k for getting permanent visas along with the 5.5k paid to the Aus gov just for me to be able to go to school. So I am going to be stuck in an Incredibely slack and unbelievably boring school for the rest of my HS years. I am not being challenged by schoolwork, it is far too boring or pointless and neither do I have any people who are interesting: all I got is boredom.

To go to a school where there is a large chance that would meet people who would make my life seem just a slightly bit more interesting/fun would be amazing. Its practically my only wish right now because being this bored for 3.5 years (a fifth of my life up until now,) is not healthy <_<
