I was wondering how everybody looks at posts. Do you go the the "New Posts" link, the Forums home, or separate forums sections? An which ones you use most frequently.

/me only uses "New Posts". Also i have it configured that i subscribe to every thread i make a post in automatically, so that i can see in subforums or the "New Posts" in which threads i have said something already...

hehe I was wondering the same thing - especially as I seem to have missed posts in threads I was interested in. I use my User CP initially and then New Posts. Occasionally I look at the whole forum page. It works if I always use the same computer but gets messed up when I use my work computer instead of home (there's a lesson there).

I have the Subscribed Threads page and New Posts script bookmarked. I check the subscriptions first to view the posts of the threads I've posted in or was otherwise interested in, then I go to New Posts to look for interesting new threads. I never ever look through the subforums, so I'm oblivious to the overall structure of the forum. I don't even look at the top of a thread where it shows its path.

How do you do that? It's hard trying to keep up with so many threads :(

I do it too. In Edit Options, under Default Thread Subscription Mode, select anything other than "Do not subscribe." I have it set to "No email notification" because that would be annoying.

Edit: And if you want to subscribe to threads without posting in them, at the top of the thread is Thread Tools and at the bottom of that menu is "Subscribe to this thread."

A young boy witnesses how his parents get killed by evil Spambots from hell.
He hides under the bed while he watches the gruesome massacre of his childhood.
The infernal Robots overlook him and he flees in terror, ashamed as he realizes his own weakness. He leaves his home, Forum City, and wanders the earth for days, almost dying of thirst and hunger.
As suddenly a friendly monk picks the boy up and brings him to his monastery.
It comes out that this hidden place is the secret training ground of the legendary Pos'Ting monks who try to become one with the interweb. Although peace loving they are aware of the evil forces which try to disrupt its harmony and so some of them decided to become fierce warrior monks.
The boy decides to become one of them as he swears to avenge his parents' death.
He completes the training from hell and passes even the most dangerous and deadliest tests. He learns to jump from thread to thread, sneaks without any noise through the postings and becomes one with the background colour.
Always on the hunt for Spambots, Flamers and Trolls, he watches the dark threads of Forum City from the gritty roofs and one day he might find the gang of murderers who killed his parents.

At daytime a harmless student but as the sun goes down he becomes

SUPER MODERATOR - soon in your cinema! :phear:

Oh, and yes, I'm terribly bored. I kinda hate sundays.

And it comes full circle when he kills the entire family of another young boy, who would later join the Order of the Flaming Trolls.

At first, I navigated through the main directories... Eventually I switched to almost exclusively using the 'new posts' for navigation, with the occasional hunting down of a thread I wanted to keep tabs on...

Now, I'm finding I'm going back to the main directories more and more instead of just checking the new posts. I think *too many* threads are dropping out of sight before they've even had a chance to develop... The majority of them disappearing before they've been properly worked through...

After all, it only takes about a day for a thread to really drop off the radar here, which is really not much time at all in a forum with members who take a while to think about things... :p

P.S. Generally, when I have the time to really attend to the forum, I open up a new tab every section of the "Within" part of the forum ('Introit' to 'School, Work, and World Affairs')... and just start working my way through each of those.
