For months, I've been trying to find a way to root my AT&T HTC One X (also known as the HTC One XL), but have yet to find a safe & simple method. My phone is on android 4.1.1 (firmware 3.18) and I have a Macbook Pro, if that helps.

Nope, I can't find a way to unlock the bootloader without having to go into the directory(?) and fiddle with the code.

Than that is the way to do it probably I only get the Nexus phones so don't mess with that.

@walfin I've checked out a couple, but they're pretty much the same as the articles. The biggest problem is that I don't have a windows PC. I'll check it out though
