The original sniper rifle was manly, the AR handy, so I called the pistol Mandy.
Ahh those were the days, but of course they had to change everything in the sequels, because as y'know the universe hates me (I hate you too) and I think pussies complained that the pistol was too effective, that it wasn't fair.

The rocket launcher is unfair, but it still fires rockets, y'know why?
Because life is unfair, and that's what makes it interesting.

I played the beta almost everyday with a friend, it was a lot of fun. The class systems works rather well and makes the game a lot more exciting than the typical Halo. I think the elites are a bit overpowered though.

The purpose of weapons like the rocket launcher is to encourage players to rush to a specific point. The rocket launcher on the pit is a perfect example of this.

The pistol was pretty good in ODST, especially on the grunts with the insta-kill headshots. And I know a took down a hunter 1-on-1 in firefight using only a pistol at one point (it was on easy though).

IMO the elites rolling ability gives them an edge over the spartans, but that only applies to one loadout. I liked using it to evade when someone caught me from behind... worked pretty well. Definitely preferred playing as the elites.

Jetpack was really my fav though. Especially when carrying the rocket launcher or grav hammer. I really got to piss some people off that way. :twisteddevil::beatyou::D

Im looking forward to this title too, always been a huge Halo fanatic. Jetpacks are a welcome add-on, though I'm not quite sure about sprint. I think it brings Halo too close to mainstream multiplayer games like Call of Duty.

But everything looks brilliant still, and Forge especially ridicilously awesome.

i think if halo had the running and aiming mechanics of call of duty, and it didnt take a whole magazine to kill someone, it would be really good.

But... then it wouldn't be Halo, but Call of Duty, right?

From the lore of halo standpoint, idk if I'll enjoy it. After reading Reach (the book, yes it ruled), I expect this to pack a punch story-wise. The problem is that from what I've seen, the game will be weak in such area. I'll remain neutral, but I doubt it'll be amazing.

The pistol is as strong as the DMR in Halo:Reach, they both kill in 5 shots, but there is much more recoil on the pistol.

Maybe I'm just confused, but how is Halo not mainstream already?

Well, I don't really consider Halo as a mainstream title (although it does sell ridiculously), as it's gameplay mechanics are very distinctive compared to to standard shooters, like CoD or such.
