Why doesn't this thread exist yet, huh? It should!

I don't really have an example for the start and just posting a song with dolphin in the name would be too easy.

I can see it.

Somehow I think this is more of a visual impression of the person in the video compared to my profile picture:

Here's mine:

Cog:

Anthile:
YouTube - Cold war Kids - Saint John

Don't ask me why, it just does.

The whole album could (she knows why) but this is my favorite song from the album (I love the smooth jazz style beat) which doesn't have any particular impression in itself.

As much as I loathe The White Album, this is kinda cool. Threads like these kinda make me wish I was more popular here to validate recognition from more people than just Anthile.

I'm gonna see if I can get over my egocentrism and think of some audial impressions for other members after I finish this album I'm listening to.

Adaire, I love that Infected Mushroom song you related to LOR.
Infected Mushroom is the only legitimate argument for a benevolent God that I've found.

Certainly no coincidence that I opened with the Queen's gambit in our current game. :p

Well, I thought for something to Cog, and then I found out Dormouse had already posted THE EXACT SAME SONG >.< And I thought Pornophonique was rather obscure :(

Still working on something.

That is in absolutely no fashion true. :phear:

I guess it may have influenced my judgement, but the music definetly fits, too. Something about sounding angry and elated simultaneously. Though that's probably just me, impressions are by definition rather subjective.

Madam, you are a genius.
Why merçi. Though I'm afraid it was a stroke of genius, and I must now return to my ordinary, un-brilliant self. Alas.

I like this. It is generously non-manic and it makes me happy. :)

Just silly ones this time.

I was just rewatching this (before you posted) and reminiscing! O.O

Aye, Ogion introduced these symphony of science clips to the IRC - one of many gifts he shared. The best.

Sagan, and his unadultered wonder for the cosmos, reduces me to tears. Imagine if every human were like him (and Ogion.) Very apt choice for our absent paladin.

Oh, I didn't actually know he introduced them. I found out about them through The Spoony One.

Indeed, I wish I could share their perspective.

I really hope I'm not overstepping the mark with this; it's in good humour honestly! Just kind of popped into my head.

Da Blob:

"Hellfire" - Hunchback of Notre Dame

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1AeqrD9EUQ

No, I don't think he's out to slaughter gypsy wenches - or at least, it hasn't been made known yet ;).

It's from a musical - I seem to recall Da Blob was somewhat partial to show tunes? 'Godly' man despairs of the inane and childish nature of the world. Resents own weakness of being human (all though that’s more of an INTP thing here given the subject matter of emotions and love.) Also, seemed kind of relevant with the recent “Iniquity versus Love” thread and what and how one comes to understand of ‘love’:

“You idiot! That wasn’t kindness, that was cunning! She’s a gypsy! Gypsies are not capable of real love!” Da Frollo 2010.

Oh, plus Frollo’s awesome. I don’t care if he drowns ugly babies, he’s badass. And I’m somewhat scared of him. So there’s a few more Da Blob parallels somewhere in there. ;)

It's not as good as AI's suggestion. Lol.

YouTube - How Soon is Now? - The Smiths

I am the son
and the heir
of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does

I am the son
and the heir
of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and the heir
of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does

There's a club if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go, and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die

When you say it's gonna happen "now"
well, when exactly do you mean?
see I've already waited too long
and all my hope is gone

You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does

So there I was listening to my music this morning at work thinking about how some of the songs really seem to fit various forum members. Then I discover that you all had this thread going on behind my back this whole time!

Dormouse's really are inspired.

Because their names begin with the same letter. Duh.

But this still begs the question, who is the scary dog, and who are the tortured toys?
