I feel that wasting my time on TV shows is a bad way to spend my time. The last series that I really was 'in to' was The Shield. I am partial to good fictional programmes but only after terrible days when books or documentaries would just fry my brain.

Lie to Me, though as of this summer it is tragically cancelled for no good reason.
Burn Notice and White Collar are also a few favorites.

Although I have never seen an episode of Lie to Me, I can guarantee the show was canceled, at least in part, due to lack of viewership. There are only a handful of media conglomerates in the United States, and their sole concern is economic self-interest. They would air someone eating shit if enough people watched it.

Does anyone like crooked cop shows? They don't seem like the type of thing I'd be interested in, but then Luther and The Shield are two of my favourite series of all time. I highly recommend them both.

I'm not one for cop shows, so excuse my interjection after your question:
MadMen is pure masochism mentally. I like it
Breaking Bad is fun too... less painful for me to watch honestly

Waiting for True Blood to make a Netflix appearance- I do like what little I have seen, though :L

I say, destroy pop culture. Let's start with American Idol and/or Jersey Shore. Maybe, if we flood Hollywood with holy water, all the plastic people will melt.

Dexter
Futurama
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Lost (though I just started it)
Criminal Minds (but they are all 'blending' together to me now)
Drop Dead Diva (kind of funny, it was on Netflix and I thought "why not")
The Big Bang Theory (I dislike how it makes idiots feel smart when watching it, sorry)
Cash Cab
Myth Busters
Untold Stories of the E.R.
Mystery Diagnosis

Far away from All This
Heroes (although they butchered Sylar when they made him friendly)
Burn Notice
Sherlock
Firefly (someone should take up the project and make more)
Malcolm in the Middle (one of the only comedies I like)
Top Gear (U.K. only)
I hear Dexter is good, but it's not on Netflx. I don't have any kind of cable, so all I watch is Netflx.

I avoid television nowadays because it's too mainstream there are very few things worth watching anymore and commercials annoy the fuck out of me. Also it's cheaper to live without a TV. But I do watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and 30 Rock and New Girl on occasion, and I enjoy Burn Notice. Only show I ever actually make a point to watch is Game of Thrones. It may not follow the books as much as I'd like but damn if it isn't awesome.

Recently?

- American Horror Story Seasons 1 & 2 (although I liked Season 1 better -- it was so badass).

- Heroes (most of the story line, plus Sylar in general, although I liked Season 1 the best and SEASON 2 SUCKED.)

- Watched an episode of Breaking Bad and really liked it, but haven't committed to watching it all yet.

- Person of Interest

- Once Upon a Time, overall, although I find some of it not so great.

I did try to get into Terra Nova and Revolution but was disappointed in both to the point of outrage. lol.

Does 'Six Feet Under' count as a TV show? Other than 'Hell's Kitchen', it's the only series I've actively followed in years.

Right now, my favorite show is Arrow:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vBGDb99y_w
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8ct_Krq8gg

Really like the notion that change is an illusion in that the same person was always present. That was such a beautiful clip. And the other clip had an excellent line of “if I have learned anything as a successful businessman, it’s redundancy.” What a beautiful line by the CEO villain.

I actually bought episodes 1,2,7,16,21-23 on Itunes.

Here's another one of my favorite clips:

I also liked Fringe. Season 5 was a masterwork in my opinion:

I like Always Sunny, Archer, Arrested Development and Bad Girls Club. Alphabetically.
Also the first season of The Tribe is on the youtube. Which is terribly 90s and awesome.

I don't even know half of the series you guys post...

Anyway:
  • Archer
  • Breaking Bad
  • House
  • Tales from the Crypt
  • Twilight Zone (all of them)
  • Elfenlied (has it's flaws, but it's cool nonetheless)
  • Digimon (yeah, I'm serious, the writing is excellent)

Most favourite series ever? Supernatural

I've been watching it since the first episode and it improved from very good (season 1) to epic (season 5 finale... wow), everything after that was just nice to have, unfortunately. Although season 7 was somewhat scarier than 5...

Edit: totally forgot MIB the series, great suff :D
