Hello all, I recently registered here and have a suggestion for improvement of the default settings in the user settings.

The "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default" box is not ticked off by default. Why is this? Why would anyone prefer not to have sent messages stored by default? Before I noticed this setting I had all ready managed to send two similar messages to another user on the board, thinking that I must have forgotten to send the first one as my Sent Items folder was empty. I am not at all blaming the forum for this; I should have gone through all the settings before doing anything else. Still though, I suspect I'm not the only new member to send multiple messages in their early days. I suggest this box be ticked off by default, allowing those few who prefer not to store their sent items to remove the tick.

And thus my first post here on INTPf is concluded. My future posts will likely be less critical and less centered on the status of various boxes. At least I hope so, for the good of us all.

I have to admit I was annoyed by this setting and only just changed it. Also welcome to the forum.

One important thing I should have considered before posting is whether or not it is within the powers of the mods to change the default setting of this box. Is it rooted deep within the board mechanics? An answer to this is needed before the users of INTPf rise up against their tyrants.

And thank you Gopher for your welcoming.

Hmmm....I know how to fix this issue. However, I'm not sure why that particular option has been auto set to no.

Give me a minute to check it out. I'll get back to you.

Edit: @Comfopleb Tis fixed. No need to rise up. Though should you decide to follow through with your plan I'd like to take this opportunity to point out the pile of torches and pickforks. They were left behind by the last group of members to "rise up" all though I find it an odd term to use for people who seem to just "fall down" and "die a painful death". *shrug*

I'm glad to have made a difference without needing to resort to violence, at least for now. I'll let it be known if I experience dissatisfaction over any other boxes, allowing more peaceful resolutions and further democratic process. I think we owe that to the last group of activists, after they left us such nice torches and pitchforks.
