Hello, I'm a new person here, most peoples on forums call me icy, so I'll stick by that nickname. I work at a corporation that makes filters for diesel trucks, and I'm some design and some IT for them. I enjoy working with computers in nearly any capacity, going to school, learning and teaching other people mathematics and computer stuff, and otherwise enjoying the time with the people close to me. I love puns and video games, in particular RPGs and rhythm games.

Nice to meet you all, let's have a fun time together :D

I may have welcome you before, but anyway, now when I have the honor to be the first to reply, welcome again Icy :D.
hmm, the title made me think what would an ice meal be like... Ice cubes with icicles, frosted with some light snow? Brrr...

Happy 777 post, Wisp.

Hm, ice meal? Probably a lot like oatmeal or corn meal, ground up and boiled in nitrogen until it forms a cohesive grid, an amorphous solid of sorts.

It's rather ironic that I chose this name since I tend to be more like a melty window of chocolate.

Thanks for the welcomes, you welcomers :D

Haha... Although I doubt that was actually post 777, as I posted elsewhere afterwards.

This, however, is post 778.

I was here since this was a desolate board where posts came about as often as rain in the desert. My original About You? post is on page two. Right after Vrecknidj, LoR, and Fernando.

Not that I'm bragging. I'm just... bragging. :p

@cognisant

Maybe it's a hint you should post more... ;)

Welcome ice, and enjoy your stay here at the forums. 2 questions: why ice-meal? And why do people call you icy in the first place. Your forum name, or your attitude? (I really really wanna know :3 )

I was punning off of the first chapter title of Moby Dick, "Call Me Ishmael" because it sounded like a good topic title. Also, I haven't read more than 30 pages of that dreaded long book, the cliff's notes version was good enough at the time.

People call me icy because it's shorter than icywindow, I guess, and it's usually done in a jovial friendly manner. I think it's a bit of a juxtaposition, because I'm a pretty caring and friendly person most of the time. I like smileys, they're good for communicating what you mean, but sometimes, dialect isn't the same. XD

I also can have a tendency to post like one liner responses, and on another board, I've racked up about... 17k posts now? In about 2 years. If I join a community, I tend to stay there. :D

So, let's all have a good time and fun around here!

When I read your thread title I thought pun: ice-meal = ishmael, but I was thinking of My Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. :D

I've never attempted to read the dreaded Moby Dick.

Well, looks like we'll be seeing a bit of you around here. Welcome.

Moby Dick? The only thing I remember about it (I was reading an abridged children's version) was that Captain Ahab finally killed the whale... or was it the other way round? So much for photographic memory.

@Win: I love the word juxtapose, but I don't get many chances to use it. :\

Be glad that you read the abridged children's version, 900 pages is too much even for a whale of a tale.

If you want to use the word juxtapos[e/ition/ed/ing], we could make a story thread which must include a transversal of the previous poster's line with some sort of token line at the end which says "oh, how their roles were juxtaposed~" or "Alright, juxtapose for the camera..."

Thanks for the welcome, LoveofReason. :D
