These pests ('Yponomeuta evonymella' of the ermine moth family) infest bird cherries every summer. Around where I live, infected trees are rather common so the creepy-effect as worn off somewhat. The larvae basicly eat the leaves and leave something resembling a spiderweb in their place. The tree itself also turns white, giving it a ghostly appearance.

Feels a bit like cotton. ZOMBIE cotton.

I haven't tested its malleability thoroughly yet, but I suppose you could shape it to some extent if you gathered a couple of handfuls. But beware that you'd also bring with you a few dozens of these:
