Banning is a jolly good time

I was reading some thread about everyone (or just some, idk) who has been banned from this forum. There were a handful or so that were plain and to the point. However, I noticed that most of them seemed to have an underlying flavor of satisfaction (at least) or that the poster/mod/banner/whoever seemed to take pleasure in either the act of banning or bragging about their ban or both.

Personally, I think people who, instead of minding their own business and carrying on with their lives despite the fact that there may be ideas, words, or even entire human beings they may find disagreeable (or even abrasive), choose to actually go out of their way to restrict the freedom of expression of others, are fags.

If you're still reading (and not just frothing at the mouth with bloodthirsty hatred, incapable of resisting your dumb, blind raging instinct to tell me how mean I am), I actually have a real question:

Why not just ignore the people you dont like? Why not play the free market game and let any abrasive individuals, trolls, or real dummies be ostracized naturally? Are they really disrupting anything?

I'm really asking this, too. Because, like, in a real life conversation, some dickhead could interrupt and make noise and really derail an interaction. But online...skipping a post or thread is as easy as it gets, no?

That's pretty edgy dude.

Nobody on the mod team enjoys banning peops. Most of the mods don't even really like being mods. A far larger failure of the mods is their collective inactivity, than their bloodlust for banning wrongdoers. I would like to see the posts that made you think mods are all iron-fist up in here.

Freemarket? Do you think shopowners should have the right to refuse service? If no, your market isn't free. If yes, how is that not a direct equivalent of forum leadership protecting private property?

I've been a mod a fair while now. Other than the benefit of knowing the forum happenings, and some extra post-modding options, there are no upsides. It's a shit chore for which you are payed exclusively in edgy quips, paranoia, cause-seeking rebelliousness, and preemptive hostility.

And yet, though you could simply have stayed quiet or gone elsewhere you have come here to both speak out against the injustice of being banned and do so in an antagonistic way that you're well aware will probably get you banned.
