Lately, the forums have had lots of talk about these things.

I think that it deserves it's own thread.

First thought: What is astral projection?
Some say that it is when your conciousness or spirit leaves your body for a brief period of time, allowing for you to witness things otherwise impossible.
Others say that it is merely a hyper realistic form of a lucid dream, that you are merely dreaming the astral projection.
That brings up lucid dreaming, is it like astral projection, or is it merely a dream. Or could it be that you are dreaming that you are lucid dreaming.

To look at these questions with an open mind, we must eliminate the parameters. First off, science and superstition. I think that we should take away those labels, because they obviously don't agree with each other. Let's just say, for a short period of time, that they work together, that each piece has no label.

Now we can look at these things with open minds.
I mean, that what if, when we decided what was superstition and what was science, we threw out things that were supposed to be taken into consideration? If we decide to look at it from a new perspective, free from the bias of science or superstition, we could come to better conclusions.

That being said, let us begin

Personally I think that all is possible when it comes to these things, after all, they have the same effect no matter what you believe. I have no problem accepting these things, but I must experience it for myself.

Any thoughts?

Okay I guess I have to be that guy and say there are already tons of threads on this subject that you might want to peruse. Here are a few:

http://www.intpforum.com/showthread.php?t=14460
http://www.intpforum.com/showthread.php?t=5324

Yah, but on recent threads that seems to be happening, so I'm bringing it up again.

I'm sure there are plenty of other threads, but none that people frequently post on.

I know you're new, so I'm going to try my very best not to be too much of a dick, but the only "recent threads" where "the forums have had lots of talk about these things" are on 3 of the 4 threads you've made in the 4 days you've been here.

Generally we try not to encourage the creation of new threads on topics that have already been covered. It's preferable to post in an old thread and revive it for discussion. In the first one I linked there are some posts from a few months ago, so that one would probably be your best bet.

Mission accomplished / salute victory.

Perhaps the OP is simply trying to put his own stamp on the topic(s) as he's new. Perfectly understandable if he wants to make himself known.

I'm sorry if it bothers you that I've put out three threads since I came, but I've been excited about these things. To tell the truth, if more people posted that much, there would be plenty to talk about and it would be a good learning experience for everyone.

I don't think that you came across as a dick, you gave an opinion, but it's hard to revive an old thread. So, I just started a new one.

If a new inventor submits three patents to a patent office, does that mean that his ideas or patents are automatically bad? Maybe those inventions could help people, but people have decided to leave his patents out because he is new.

I'm actually not new either, I lurked for a while and I just decided to start posting.

These aren't inventions. You're submitting patents for a piece of technology that already exists.

And I'm not sharing an opinion. I help moderate this site in what little spare time I have, and I'm telling you to please stop making duplicate threads. Part of the purpose of this site is also to function as a sort of archive, and having twenty lucid dreaming threads makes for a cluttered archive.

It isn't hard to revive an old thread. Give it a try.

I'm creating updated inventions, not new, I'm bringing it to the surface.

I'm sorry I'm wasting your valuable free time by posting some questions I have, even if they are repeated.

If you want, since you are a moderator, to take down the tread, go ahead. If you can't, tell me how to. I'm just trying to say, don't shoot down a firework that hasn't exploded yet.

Just merge the Belak's post into an old thread, effectively bumping it. Close further threads on lucid dreaming.
