Huh. Funny how they'll be kind enough to let you run Windows on a MAC but any "foreign" software on an iPhone can cause it to malfunction.

Yes indeed, my husband shelled out 400 bucks for Vista and cursed the day he installed it. What a crash-fest that was! He had to move everything over to my PC and then start from scratch reinstalling everything in order to go back to XP.

To be quite frank, it's crap. Microsoft just really doesn't get it.

I've been using Ubuntu Linux for a few years now. I am very satisfied.

I'm keeping my eye on Apple, though.

I second lightspeed on Ubuntu, but I'm also saving up for a Powerbook.

We are also ubuntu users in this house. Brains more computer-like than mine have just spent the best part of a week installing "Gutsy Gibbon" 7.10 and getting everything to function again. (Happy now :))

If Iinux didn't exist I'd be a mac user.

I don't know what to think about Vista at this point. I've only used it a few times and I've hated every second of it...but its still relatively new. Windows XP for example was terrible when it was first released and now is a very solid and stable OS.

We discussed that just today. A customer of mine was deeply disappointed with Vista and asked for consequenses on migrating to Mac. Since I work entirely with Microsoft tools and techniques I don't have a choice. However, I have been tempted to buy a MacBook (for when I write protocols etc on board meetings) - but that was after I saw one in pink crocodile leather!

About Vista, I never convert to new software before at least SP2 has been issued. Don't care to be beta testing for free.
