If I think I am half Introvert and half Extrovert, does that mean my dominant cognitive functions switch too? Do I have both Ti and Te as my dominant trait?

What do you guys think about ambiversion? I feel like I do enjoy hanging out with people and being in crowds, but I also NEED alone time.

I think you're an introvert, from the way you posted. Introversion and extroversion isn't whether you enjoy or like to talk to people, it's about what you find draining and energizing. Sure, you may like hanging out with people, talking, but I imagine in large crowds you usually get tired, although you can keep on going when it's with small groups. But you can better feel centered when you're alone for awhile.

But I also believe the MBTI is really good. My Reverend talks about extroversion and introversion in a different way- that people really just need to find whatever their balance is. When Rev. had jobs that kept her in an office, only working with a handful of people each day, she really felt a need to socialize outside of work. And on the flip side, she'd get tired out and just want alone time with her husband and dog when she had busy extroverted jobs.

The dominant function of ENTP is Ne, so you're probably just more balanced between Ti and Ne.
