I am starting to hate this phrase. Everytime I get in a debate the people I am talking to use it like some sacred word that can just end any argument. Does anyone else encounter this?
Screw that! The Incorrect deserve no dignity! I will not be deprived of the right to the performance of the all-important I Am Right and You Are Wrong Dance.I would guess people say that so they can back out of an argument/debate they're losing, while maintaining their dignity. I think it's a reasonable way to back out of a conflict, especially if the thing you're debating doesn't have a definite answer.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagreeScrew that! The Incorrect deserve no dignity! I will not be deprived of the right to the performance of the all-important I Am Right and You Are Wrong Dance.
(Actually, I haven't been able to perform the dance in ten years as a married man is categorically wrong.)
Yes, I told them, dear... Sorry dear... Ow...
So beautifully devious of you Cavallier!I don't get angry I just switch sides. I start arguing their point for them because by the gods I shall have an intelligent discussion even if I have to carry both sides!![]()
