Default The Magicians by Lev Grossman

I just finished it--easily one of my favorite new books to come out in the past few years. Fun and engaging, but not without literary style--it was sort of like Harry Potter for grown-ups, with sex and drugs and ambiguity...

Anybody else read it yet?

Kinda off subject but I always think of good movies that could be a little more adult themed, not like obscene gore or porno or anything but not fluffy either. Like someone's arm getting ripped off with a light saber and actually seeing the cauterized, charred end of the limb, and a realistic amount of gore, and appropriate dialogue to use star wars as an example. I mean hell there have been enough remasters and extra scenes added it wouldn't be so far of a stretch.

I think I know what you mean. There seems to be a divide between fantasy and realism, in film and fiction. I'd like to see more blending as well.
