Default MBTI Types and Their True Desires?

ENTp, ESTp => to be loved
INTj, INFj => to be healthy
ESFj, ESTj => to be perfect
ISFp, INFp => to understand
ENFj, ENTj => to be wealthy
ISTj, ISFj => to believe
ESFp, ENFp => to know
INTp, ISTp => to love

I found this while browsing another MBTI forum, and was a little surprised / curious about what it entailed. This is basically a list of all the types and what they(we?) really want. I'm assuming it goes beyond the obvious likes / dislikes of the temperaments, but do you agree with this? esp the one for INTPs (to love)?

You visit other MBTI forums?

They seem silly to me, whittling down a whole type (in fact two types) to one lone desire. In saying that, I do have a strong desire to love so maybe there's something there.

Are you sure it's MBTI? The type are formatted as in Socionics theory. If that's the case, it could actually be "to love" or "to be healthy" due to the argument over a J/P switch for introverted types when converting MBTI type to Socionics type, as J/P in socionics indicates the dominant function rather than the extroverted function if I remember correctly.

It seems to be that these are based on an inferior 4th function.

Taking these:
INTj, INFj => to be healthy
INTp, ISTp => to love

INTj or LII has a function order of Ti Ne Fi Se Fe Si Te Ni
INFj or EII has a function order of Fi Ne Ti Se Te Si Fe Ni
INTp or ILI has a function order of Ni Te Si Fe Se Fi Ne Ti
ISTp or SLI has a function order of Si Te Ni Fe Ne Fi Se Ti

Based on the way those are written, with the lowercase p and j, that sounds like socionics, which is not related to MBTI in any real way.

Gah beaten to it...

I can't remember off the top of my head the exact reason for this, but whatever it is that someone wants most is more often than not the one thing they’re least capable of getting. In light of this and the typically guarded nature of an INTP it doesn’t seem implausible that "to love" is a desire of particular potency to INTPs.

Although "to understand" would seem to be the most influential desire in my life.

I would say I disagree, with the INTP one anyway. I would say the INTP's true desire is to create.

In case it isn't socionics... I think they mixed up the last two pairs. Makes more sense for ESFP/ENFP to love and INTP/ISTP to know...

I agree 100% with both of these answers. As much as I do want to love and be loved, my reason for being is to create, invent, research and solve problems. McGyver is my hero. I love thinking on my feet, and being the one to find a solution to a problem is the greatest rush I know. This is one of the few areas where I am really competitive. Well, that and trivia. I know I could kick that Ken guy's ass on Jeopardy...

Hmmmm.... I want some person to come along who will actually appeal to my one of my odd fetishes. Is that to love?

I do want to create, but ultimately I do not want to feel like a failure and despair. I don't exactly want to succeed to the fullest degree, I just don't want to fail miserably...

I want to create, improve or see the arise of something that works better. I often think I'm not an INTP, rather it was the only type I could squeeze into. Actually, I think this frequently...

These days I would probably give anything to be anything that would give me some decisive direction and future.

I should make a rule not to be posting on forums at 4 am in the morning. When I get tired, I start to lose my mind without realizing it.

huh? to... love???

Nuu... my purpose here is to understand... then help those who cannot and make a living out of it, at a fair price, of course, while I use that to fund my desire to understand other things, lol.

such is life =|
