I actually liked the game immensely. It didn't have a lot of staying power, but it was amazing on the psychological aspect, and I really appreciated that. I haven't kept up with the game for a while, but new maps would drag me right back.

That being said, I like the idea of variable weather conditions. At times L4D single player could get repetitive. That and I bet the charger would make launching an infected attack on the survivors a lot more interesting. I'm definitely intrigued.

P.S. I won't miss Francis either... *sigh* the biker gets no love.

I used Louis. called him Barrack Obama.. haha

I was impressed at first, it was a good game, but I expected DLC.. The maps got boring after playing on the hundreds of times. Then Survival Mode was supposed to be really good, and I was disappointed. :(

Everyone was either Zoey or Louis. I usually played Louis as Ninja Jesus.

Yeah... it was definitely a matter of not enough content. I suppose they intended on making L4D2, so none of the design staff were set aside to expand the original. I hope they add in the capability of network user content maps so they don't have that problem again.

Different character skins would have worked too. It wouldn't have been a problem, they're so small.. Change Louis tie to green on christmas, just to see if anyone would notice.. haha

(it's cool that we've got this 1on1 discussion going on. haha)

I would have thought there would be dozens of INTPs on the zombie wagon. Maybe they're all too busy playing Sims 3.

For something completely different, I want one of these...

I enjoy L4D but there is a surprising lack of DLC. They added the survival mode and everything but it still remains a bit bland.

Killing floor is leaps and bounds above L4D though technically its not against zombies.

and imo L4D 2 is coming out too soon. Its 7 days off of exactly 1 year later

That is disappointing. The game feels unfinished. There needs to be more than 4 levels. I thought that I was getting a good deal when I payed $24.99 for l4d, but if no new levels are in the works and a sequel is already in the pipeline I think I may have been ripped off:(. That said, what little is included in the l4d campaign is fantastic.

The competitive multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired. It can best be summed up with this flow chart. Whats worse is when you play the through on the winning side only to be switched by the server onto the losing team at the end of the level.

The survial mode is a nice addition. It is a game mode that can be enjoyed if you do not have enough time to invest into a complete gaming session.

I enjoyed listening to the developer commentary under the "extras" tab. I found it facinating how they developed the director AI. I also found it interesting that the music used in game is also personalized. This is the first FPS in a long time that encouraged me not to turn off the music after a few hours of play and replace it with my own. The audio in general is almost required to play well in the higher difficulties.

Just play killing floor. It comes with 5 instead of 4 maps........but seriously there are at least 2 dozen good community made maps/mods as well

L4D is a great game, but not enough content. It's also too early for a sequel, but there's money to be made I guess... I've had a lot of fun playing it though, especially with friends. I've also met a few new friends through L4D too.
