Avatar - The Last Airbender (c'mon I love anything with the four elements)
House (I bought the Hugh Laurie's book just because of his character)
Heroes (I just like the first season drama but the effects and the powers are still nice)
Friends (two holiday weeks spent watching the whole show)
Family Guy
The Simpsons
My Name is Earl
Prison Break
Clone Wars (the new one)
Band of Brothers

and any show on Discovery Channel and History Channel...

Scrubs (weird, but funny)
Blackadder series (hilarious!)
Air Crash Investigation (because I'm morbid)
Seconds From Disaster (see above; I like this more than ACI)

....I have no TV signal where I live, so those are my only ones. T.T Either my parents or I have a boxset (Scrubs and BA), or I only remember them (ACI, SFD).

When I was a kid, I loved a show called Gargoyles on WB: the main character was called Goliath. The characters were mostly gargoyles on top of a skyscraper in... some American city. I was 8 and didn't care. Anyone else remember liking that one?

Scrubs is a hospital sitcom. The main character, JD (Dr. John Dorian, precisely), though, keeps having these bizarre fantasies about anything that catches his mind, like connecting with a German-speaking patient by dancing to the German version of '99 Red Balloons' in his hospital room with red balloons falling from the ceiling and all over the floor. That was what I meant by 'weird but funny'; a lot of the time, you just have a WTF?!LOL reaction to things on that show. The other characters are good too, though: this entire country apparently LOVES Dr. Cox.

Has anyone seen "Breaking Bad"?

The first season is only seven episodes, but what a great show!

It's about a genius chemistry teacher who's been dominated by stronger personalities his whole life. He finds out he's dying of lung cancer and decides to start cooking crystal meth in an old RV in order to pay for his medical bills and take care of his wife and son after he's dead.

It's dark, cynical, humorous, and often heartbreaking.

I really relate to Walt (the main character played by Bryan Cranston) on some levels.

You are aware that there's a second season, right?

This may be my favourite show ever. It may even beat Lost. I don't know where to begin to say just how awesome it is, so I'm just gonna say that the acting, especially in the lead character, is brilliant.

Pretty much the same as most other people here. I watch House, Star Trek (TOS and TNG though), and Dexter. Used to watch Boston Legal (hilarious situations sometimes), and saw my first episode of Doctor Who today. I can barely wait for the marathon Tuesday on BBC America. Dexter S4 should be good if they stay at the standard they've put up with previous seasons.

Interesting, how many favourites are found to be in common...

All-time favourite for me is definitely House. I still love it, but I'm not obsessed anymore. Nothing could take me away from the TV when the show was on during that phase. >___>
I used to love Lost too, but the endless continuations put me off after a while.
There are also an endless list of Jap, Korean and Taiwanese dramas that I love. I'm guessing no one would've heard of them though so I'm not going to bother listing.

I don't know if it's me or what is screened now, but there just seems to be nothing good on TV. Excepting Doctor Who.

Fringe- I know some of the concepts in it are really non sense, yet can't deny that there are information which open my mind.
House- need to say more?
Criminial Minds- I like to know the possibility of me being one of them.
Justice- was interested in Law
X-files- as Fringe, it opened my mind

In fact, I pretty much will watch anything that isn't reality tv, a crime show, or has a developing romance between main characters. Okay, so that just about leaves the shows listed above.

Aight.... AIGHT!

I know I already posted on this thread, but that was months ago, and I am very different.... again

I don't watch television at all really, but sometimes I may want to watch something before falling asleep say a sitcom "Malcom in the Middle" not a particulary great show (I now dread sitcoms) and I;m not a fan of this one either, or I may watch some news.... if I can find a channel.

But when I used to watch allot of television, I would watch pretty much anything, which probably taught me allot.

edit: Oooo yeah, and Scrubs though I never get a chance to watch it, it is my favorite television show, unless I am forgeting something

Man, a lot of people like house. None of my friends like it, and I don't understand why. Oh well.

House- reasons have been stated by everyone else (brain stealers )
NCIS- It's a good show and is just funny at times. Plus, Ducky and Abby are cool.
The Soup- My dad always watches this show and has gotten me into it. There's also Web Soup which can be pretty hilarious
Southpark- Whoever thinks up this stuff is a perverted, maniacal genius!

I watched a couple of episodes of Chocolate News, and it was amazing so I might have to start watching that as well.

I'm surprised there's been no mention of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.' Personally I think it's one of the funniest shows of all time (which really isn't saying much considering my frame of reference). Top Gear is also outstanding. Any Norm MacDonald appearance on television is also a sight worth seeing.

For American shows, Frasier, Cheers, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, and Futurama. All excellent!

British shows - The Office, Boys from the Blackstuff, Brideshead Revisited, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads, I Claudius, Alan Partridge, Blackadder, The Prisoner (of which Lost is a feeble copy imo). You tend to get more artsy conceptual mini-series over here, instead of the sprawling American sitcom.

LOST - probably the ideal show for any INTP. It's so absurdly complicated and philisophical that it makes our theoretical minds stick to it like a druggie sticks to crack cocaine. It's that addictive.

Heroes - Or at least the first season. I find the later season to be predictable and redundant. Not to mention lacking cohesive plot. But the first season is absolutely suburb.

The Office - Witty, nerd comedy at its best. Need I explain?

Yeah... I'd have to guess INTJ, based on his intelligence at making almost blind leaps from point a to point b, but missing what's directly obvious(N), and his scheduling, and massive criteria, and his blind "that's my seat" mentality... (J) The rest is obvious...

but this is a discussion for another topic

DEXTER
Star Trek: Voyager (Best episode is when the doctor was trapped in an error that had him questioning if he's real or not.
Family Guy
The Simpsons (the funny period years ago)
South Park
Miami Vice (first couple of seasons)
Married with children
X-files
Star Trek TNG (and not those episodes when Picard is being a pussy)

I was thinking about why I really like Dexter the other day.
Foremost of all, Dexter reflects a great deal about us INTP's. He is socially numb and akward. But he constantly observes and emulates to fit in socially. He is even that successful that people really do like him.
I experience the same situation. People around me are just not my cup of tea. Always talking about soccer matches or some dumb subject. Oh man, small talk makes my head explode. But I've learned to cope with most social situations. I have a repertoire of social responses. Sometimes I'm stuck though, like when someone becomes too chatty and I loose them. Then it is my turn to say something, the line "I see what you mean" works like 80% of the time, but I'm thinking: "what the hell was she talking about????". And if they continue flapping their mouth, I really hope that someone decides to call me, or better still call me chatty assailant. In that case I do what socially is expected to do:"We really should continue later ok?".

Types of TV Episodes are fact-based lists about tv episodes which include information about the famous writers and directors behind these tv show favorites. Looking for “top 10” “best of” “alltime best” types of lists? This is not the right section for these; however, these factual lists can be used to build your own “best of” or “favorite” lists of a particular tv episode. Read more:-

That was what I meant by 'weird but funny'; a lot of the time, you just have a WTF?!LOL reaction to things on that show. The other characters are good too, though: this entire country apparently LOVES Dr. Cox.
that show is more mannered than an english butler serving tea. it gets my vote for worst show on television, edging out judge mathis, john and kate plus eight, and keeping up with the kardashians. no small feat. dr. cox can suck my...well, you get the idea.

eldertoadstool mentioned some good shows, however, i dont know if joy of painting was a joke or not. the list is much better with that bookend though. it seems incongruous with the other shows, but who am i to judge - like listing golden girls after house or big brother or something masculine. some shows i would add are the following:

henry rollins show
the colbert report
lockup raw
live from abbey road
intervention
countdown with keith olbermann
man vs. wild

Ooh boy, this will be fun

The Office (greatest show. Ever)
Modern Family
Family Guy
Spongebob (of course)
House
Last Comic Standing
Parks and Rec.
Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes (guilty pleasure)

Oh, and please, PLEASE tell me that you all despise the shows: Community and Tosh.0
I can't tell you how much they suck. They radiate it.

Arrested Development plays in its own league, probably the best show ever. Mr. Show, Family Guy, South Park and The Big Bang Theory have their moments too. And I like The IT Crowd surprisingly much... I guess it's kinda cozy?

House M.D. - for pretty much every reason already listed, it's probably the #1 INTP television show
Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU - I enjoy the mystery behind the episodes. I also admire Jack McCoy from the original series.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? - absurdity at its best. Wayne Brady is my favorite.
Project Runway - not only do I enjoy the reality-TV component of being able to psychoanalyze competitors, but I've always been intrigued by the superficiality and subjectivity of the fashion world.
Futurama - light-hearted sci-fi.
Scrubs - medical dramedy is a genius TV genre. Janitor makes the show.
Monk - again, with the mystery genre thing.
Spongebob Squarepants - probably an anti-INTP show, but I enjoy the absurdity of it. Not EVERY show has to be logical [just most ]

Pawn Stars and Surviving Death are rather entertaining, especially when baked. Basically, any program on the History Channel is money, baked or otherwise.

Many of my favorite shows have already been listed by others here, particularly lots of good science fiction shows and cartoons. I've recently been watching a lot of South Korean shows, but I'll begin by listing the English-language shows you're probably more familiar with, divided into categories.

SCIENCE FICTION/HORROR/FANTASY

Smallville, Vampire Diaries, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Primeval, Heroes, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, Firefly, Star Trek, Farscape, Caprica, Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, Xena: Warrior Princess, Kyle XY

COMEDY/CARTOONS

Black Adder, Monty Python, 'Allo 'Allo, South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Arrested Development, Futurama, Green Wing

KOREAN DRAMAS

I've recently gotten into Korean dramas, watching them on Hulu. I don't know the language much, but they have subtitles. I am currently hooked on The Great Queen Seondeok and Sungkyunkwan Scandal, two historical dramas that take place approximately 1100 years apart from each other, though this is hard to tell from the costuming or the levels of technology seen in each series. Sungkyunkwan Scandal is probably the less authentic of the two, since it takes place after the American revolution, yet no one has weapons more powerful than a bow and arrow. But that's a small gripe. It's actually a very funny show about a girl disguised as a boy, because their Confucian society doesn't allow girls to attend university. Perhaps because this is the best way to fit girls into historical dramas about male dominated societies, the title character of Queen Seondeok also goes around disguised as a boy for a while, though maybe this actually happened, since she is a real historical figure. It seemingly borrows elements from Star Wars, though since it is history, maybe George Lucas borrowed from the legends of Seondeok. I have already finished watching Possessed, Boys Before Flowers, Cinderella's Sister, and Thank You. All were excellent. Cinderella's Sister is noteworthy for its portrayal of an INTP.
