Default Online Typology Resources

There's a lot of links spread all over the forum, but no thread to hold them all.

I've been meaning to post the resources I've found the most useful and interesting for quite some time, but my humongous Pness always hindered all of my efforts.

The aim of this thread is ideally to provide the more in-depth, detailed information about typological concepts, (unlike the places like personality page, typelogic, etc) for us too cheap and lazy to get books, and just generally provide a place for people to get information they need and share their own resources.

---

SolitaryWalker's type descriptions as published in 'Principles of Typology by Aleksey Bashtavenko':

---

Van Der Hoop's function descriptions:

---

Articles by author:

Katherine Benziger:

Lenore Thomson:

John Beebe (the Archetype theory):

J.H. Van der Hoop:

Naomi Quenk:
(Descriptions of the Inferior function under stress)
---

Nurture By Nature:
Understand Your Child's Personality - And Become A Better Parent by Barbara Barron-Tieger and Paul D. Tieger

---

Excerpts From "Principles of Typology":
---

Miscellaneous function articles:

---

Other Articles:

Spoiler:
Quote:
This theoretical bias in the MBTI is so strong, and has become so deeply embedded in how the system operates and is understood, that we would venture to guess that most MBTI practitioners never learned about the possibility of 'pure type' in the first place. Or, if they had, they surely no longer give much consideration to how the profiles of pure types may differ from profiles of the others.Even those who once were aware of the distinction come to forget, over time, about the possibility of 'pure' types. As we have shown elsewhere, this accounts for an interesting contemporary confusion about the personality type of Jung himself.Although one camp argues that he was an INTP (ie, Jungian IT) and the other argues that he was INTJ (Jungian IN), both remain unaware - because they are caught up in MBTI assumptions - of the fact that Jung was, ironically, himself a 'pure' type.A person who had introverted thinking and introverted intuition as his first two functions (with the former as dominant at some points in his career, and the latter dominant at other times), Jung was one 'pure' or 'extreme' type who not only lived 'effectively', but also made an extremely significant contribution.

A few samples from the directory:

Jung Page Articles (some incomplete):
---

As a final note, this is an incomplete list containing resources I've found to be of reasonably good quality and interesting for further study. It will probably be modified/updated in the future as I acquire the ability to organize my bookmarks () better and find new ones. Contributions are welcome (do eet!!), as well as suggestions for inclusion or exclusion of resources in the OP.

Thanks loads Fukyo. The consolidation is really useful. (I'm just on van der hoop's now and they're fascinating.)

Fukyo!

Gosh thanks.

I've been itching to ask someone for something like this for some time.

Mostly because my knowledge of the MBTI, outside INTP/INFP/INTJ is full of holes, and even those three are misty in some aspects.

Thanks a bunch boss!

Van Der Hoops is an alluring name. It's like Van Der Beek except not as Van Der Beek.

Van Der Hoops splits the defense *four, three, two...* and it's up. *Three points to win* Van Der Hoops does it again!

OP says was meant for more comprehensive stuff, but here's just some references (not all necessarily INTP specific):

Quote:

beep boop bop beep

www.personalityJunkie.com (AJ Drenth INTP) [Wrote INTP book] [Has recently delved into all 8 functions]
www.oddlydevelopedtypes.com (Anna Moss, self identifies as INTP, somewhat in-active on INTPf) [Wrote INTP book, working on others]
www.http://www.darionardi.com [Using EEG to identify types]
http://www.personalitypage.com/html/index.shtml
www.cognitivetype.com (unsure of owner, but related to Auburn at INTPf) [Focuses on "visual reading" & identifying types]
www.podlair.com [LOL JK]
www.socionics.com + www.sociotype.com [Goes into 8 functions]
www.typelogic.com
I personally never find anything good about MBTI on Reddit (except Nardi's AMA), but eh.
http://www.amazon.com/Principles-Typ...dp/1438927142/ [SolitaryWalker's book]
http://intpexperience.com

Somewhat less useful:

http://www.keirsey.com/4temps/inventor.asp
www.myperosnality.info
http://mbtitruths.blogspot.com
http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-p...e/mbti-basics/
www.celebritytypes.com
you can pretty much find 99% of the ones I shared simply by googling anything related to MBTI/Jung/Typology, but I felt like having a nice repository

Also @fukyo/op please edit the dead links out of OP

I would like to see INTPs very own outlook on INTPs. An outlook from and to members of this forum. I understand that many topics come up on this forum and MBTI is not necessarily the sole topic for discussion here. That said, I would very much enjoy reading info from members on this forum what an INTP is, how they think and what is typical in INTPs on this forum.

What do you (all) think of that?

A fascinating proposition. Why don't you start with a stab of your own (ideally in a new thread)? If it's intriguing, others will surely follow.

I currently have a video type me thread that is up on this forum. If it turns out people think I am INTP, I will gladly share what I know of myself and how that relates to being INTP.
