Re: Please forgive my past
It looks like the jared2954 account has been banned, the question is whether the old account has been re-activated or not.
I`m new here myself, so in this particular case I can`t say one way or another about forgiving a situation I know nothing about, but this does raise and interesting subject of forgiveness in general. Do you give second chances regardless of the (crime?) someone has committed, and if that depends on the severity of the crime, where do you draw the line?
Sure we all make mistakes, but I`m for fairness. For example, if someone has committed murder and has been found guilty of that murder, then I`m of the belief that the only fair punishment is the death penalty, as the life that`s been taken can`t be given back.
If it`s something much lighter, like verbal abuse etc. then I guess it depends (to me anyway) on whether it`s a first time offense or a repeat offense. If someone`s a repeat offender it shows a pattern of behavior that`s unlikely to change and if that`s the case, if the first verbal warning doesn`t work even after a cool-off period, then probably no amount of warnings will work, therefore a permanent ban seems to be the most logical course of action.
