<3 Hallucinogens of all kinds immensely. Weed is nice to relax to and get a little more enjoyment out of the senses and contemplation. Caffeine is my crutch. I've done enough caffeine a couple of times to reach the hallucinogenic stages, but I was so strung out that I couldn't sleep for what...
Fair enough, but it's hard for me to categorize something like "inventing a new programming language" as Software Engineering as I learned it.
Peculiars of the job always matter, but when you're trying to pick a field while you're still a student, it's hard to go off of anything...
That's pretty much exactly what I was attempting to say when I mentioned the length of smile or how wide open the eyes are. My point was to try and understand why my mentioning these traits somehow indicated that I wasn't "familiar enough" with Pod'Lair theory to have any value to...
You know how many of the videos I've watched, which documents I've read, my background with regards to reading facial/physical cues, my background with psychology, and any other relevant piece of information...how?
Ohrly?

Disclaimer: Running with the guy/girl stereotypes with the realization that it doesn't always break down into gender this way.
Actually, this is exactly what happens to a lot of guys - they get attention from a girl that is just trying to be nice to them, and then they cling on to the girl for...
Software engineering is boring, in my opinion. I took a couple of classes in college for it, and my current profession is very much in that general area.
I would urge you to keep exploring other options - lots of great areas for INTPs out there. I'd look into biophysics, genetics, pure &...
Yes, yes - I like your outlook. I appreciate your assessment. To be fair, I've had my share of budding romances that I've given a chance and cut off fairly early in the process, so I don't suppose it's accurate to pinpoint one thing or another.
At any rate with regards to the OP, I think the...
Yet you have very little knowledge of how much I (or many others that have commented here) know about the theory. You're the one that is telling us that we don't know enough.
I'm sorry, I'll try harder to grasp the next simple principle that comes around.
Again, you're the one telling me what...
Lies. ESC = the Borg.
And whose fault is this?
By this reasoning, why is anyone but Thomas involved with Pod'Lair? Sounds to me like the rest of you have nothing to contribute, and nobody else ever will. Everyone must subject themselves to single bodies of knowledge, as any input is completely...
L2Pheremone.
Edit: I've encountered the same "girl is really into me initially and then runs screaming when I show them attention" scenario so many times that I've just given up. It's honestly not worth it to me anymore - it's just a lot of stress. I've been courteous, shown interest, asked...
My feelings on this change as I age. When I was a child, I never much thought about being different. Towards middle school, I was more concerned with soaking things up than introspection. In high school I knew I was different and smarter than everyone else, and developed a superiority complex...
Eyeseecold is persistent to be sure, but he's also extremely rational. Unlike Pod'Lair, he is willing to put his ideas and theories up against intelligent scrutiny and even make adjustments when he's convinced that something is flawed or incorrect. Believe it or not, that's how progression...
Totally agree with the above. I went into college as a physics major for no reason other than "it's interesting" and I could ace any math course through Calc 3 & Differential Equations with minimal effort. Long story short, I grew exceedingly bored with the reality of being a physics major...
I'm skeptical about the claim that the words that have been chosen are truly the "only" words that can be used. Furthermore, I'm not sure why you claim that you can't use certain words because of their relation to MBTI, but then proceed to use words that are completely loaded in their own right...
I'm not sure that anyone is arguing that Pod'Lair doesn't present a potentially useful and interesting framework with which people might improve their lives. I think the general area of concern is that the large volume of claims about Pod'Lair are unsupported. The burden of proof is on Pod'Lair...
Your breakdown of each system seems subjective to me. I would not break them down the way you did, though I admit my breakdown would also be subjective. Your way probably works for you, but I cannot draw the same conclusions that you do, as my version of your charts would not look the same. I...
Your MBTI and Jungian classifications still come across as completely arbitrary and subjective, to me. It's like you're parsing and presenting the data in one model/framework. That's not to say it's incorrect, just saying that it's one of many possible parses or interpretations. As such, the...
Oh, ICEE. Months later, and you're still on the same binge ;). Are you quite sure you're INTJ/INTp? I mean, you have unprecedented patience and capability to stay on the same rant :D. Edit: Oh wait, it was INTP/INT(j), wasn't it?
I kid, I kid...well, sort of. It's impressive to see you hash...
I'm a lich! You cannot kill me unless you destroy my catalyst. :twisteddevil:
Hopefully I'll get back around to posting a little more on here. I've checked some threads here and there...just been busy with everything else. Such is the INTP way :D.
Sorry for the late reply. It's been a busy holiday season. Yes, I was serious. I also had a point when I said that it seems like common sense at first. *shrug* You don't have to agree, but I think it's silly to belittle what was said based on the apparent "shallow" level of the content. Take...
I didn't actually realize I copied the "and you" subject. It was probably a subconscious reproduction from having posted so much in the other thread.
This is an interesting function order. Fe third and Te last...wow.
It's interesting that you have Ni and Ti on top...that agrees partially...
I think the problem is that the "types" are only good as very vague, general guides. I think it's certainly possible to use any combination of the functions in any order of frequency, though the logic behind the dominant/auxiliary pair seems reasonable enough. I can imagine that you might...
I figured there might be, but there are so many discussions about functions on here that I didn't even know where to begin searching. My apologies if I'm rehashing something that's already been done.
Shoeless interpreted it correctly. Which do you feel you utilize the most, whether it's consciously or unconsciously (subconsciously?). Consider both use and influence over you. That's why I put short explanations afterward, to try and describe briefly why I put each one where I did.
I think we are at far greater risk doing whatever we are doing to the Earth as a compensatory measure for not having the Helium 3 that we might gather from the moon. I doubt we will really alter the properties of the moon enough anytime soon to warrant paranoia.
Maybe I'm just an optimist... :D
Recent discussions over how well MBTI and Socionics represent Jung's original psychological types made me question which functions I use myself and how I use them. As such, I thought that it would be a neat exercise for us to list the order in which we relate to the Jung functions or types, from...
You are now commissioned to make me a pair of shoes. Starting pay is three milk duds, and you will lose 1/10th of a milk dud for every 10 minutes henceforth that I have to wait. Go!
Oh, Megaman themed, please. Thanks.
I think that's his point, actually. If you ascribe to the belief that INTP is auxiliary Ne, then that makes the act of playing chess a little less comfortable for us, as we have to branch outside of our preferred method of perceiving. That said, I'm not entirely sure if all of that is true...
The joy of chess for me is in the theorizing that largely occurs outside of an actual game. I enjoy thinking about possible variations, researching strategy, going over games that others played, etc. Actually playing the game is pretty stressful for me, since I hate having to commit to a move.
Chess is a fascinating game. I've put many, many hours into it, though I'm still only an average player at the competitive level. You can spend quite a while talking about it once you really get into the strategy.
I think I do this more with Fi than Fe. When I get caught up in an emotion, I really tend to get absorbed in it. For whatever reason, it feels like I want to be absorbed in it. I'll do everything in my power to bring the emotion to full power. Occasionally I'll realize it's happening and stop...
Haha, I actually had the same thought.
I only see Cegorach when he's banning people. My mind has fashioned him into a deity of sorts. I might build a shrine in my room soon. Do I get divine offerings rained down upon me? Please? :gott0::gott0:
You're going to make me work to find it. *groan*
Fine! But you get negative INTP karma points :p.
Lucky for you, karma doesn't really work in my favor.
Edit: Hey, that was pretty nifty. Loving the song selection. I've noticed a lot of INTP/INTJ types seem to be into prog metal/prog rock/metal...
I wish people would do this more often. I love it. I like it much better when I can read my own dialogues or ideas into people instead of having to watch them screw up the mystique :D.
I probably verge on your given definition of Sociopath already. I don't think I have enough of an issue to claim I have a disorder, but I certainly think that I fit that description to some degree.
