sickly inconvience

Everyone: It'll subside

Me: The frailty of man, what caused me to succumb to this minor inconvenience? Has the immune been subsumed by disease? The lord has cast a pestilent shower over my head.

O' Lord, why hath we reverted to the dark ages? Why can't we remain in tranquility for epochs to come. O 'Lord, why has thou forsaken me?

what medicine do you take for a cold?

What if your infection mutates into a super-virus, spreads across the world and wipes out the human race? Just a thought.

If that's the case I won't feel guilty for assumably being hyperbolic. Even in a global catastrophe there's a silver lining.

Back in like 2012 I knew this kid that pretended to hack the pentagon. One thing he done. Presumably to make his computer look similar to a command terminal was to change the contrast which left black and green as the colour palette.

I couldn't turn the brightness down on my computer but inverting the contrast seems good enough, looks kinda cool too (P. S disappointingly, I didn't hack the pentagon, but aliens do exist)

Funfact: It's common for an introverted girl to own a horse over here.

I guess their introversion was a product of living in the countryside.

Tinder is the bane of my existence. I think it's a moral imperative for us to populate a new dating app, one for people that actually take the time to put detail in their bios and communicate with others.

The fact that you have gone to tinder, a known hookup site, looking for more than a hookup... CMON rebis you are smarter than that.
Just fuck em all and eventually one will have some good pillow talk.
Or just find a better app. I think moody said to take an art class, I can second that. Art classes are great for meeting people and getting dates.
I went on a date with the girl in my art class, fucking crushed her ovaries when I clearly missed the fact that it was a date, I was like that was fun bro, les do again.
rip.
Im very adept at missing social queues, an expert, of sorts. that makes me a nightmare for women, who like me.
I wouldnt attend a feminist meeting, I dislike anyone who calls themselves a feminist, seriously shut the fuck up, we all just want to be treated equal, nobody is happy with equal, they want to crush the other side.
Until they FEEL equal. ugh people are terrible.
ciao

Edit: didnt mean shut up to whoever said the feminist meeting thing, I just find a woman calling herself a feminist to be a giant redflag, poor you, must be hard.
Im one of the terrible people obviously. saying you think you are worthy of equal rights is like saying I LET YOU DO THAT when you have sex, like shut up, we both know that. its not needed

2nd Edit: this came off a bit hateful, but its how I see it. When you feel the need to identify as being worthy of equal treatment, it comes off as strange, just making a big deal stating the obvious.
Normally i would delete something like this, but I suppose I dont learn or get input If I just delete things im unsure/not proud of.
Roast me, enlighten me.

A lot of people use tinder as their first drop in site for dating. I wish there was fragmentation just instead of everyone Pilling on there.

Nah I want something emotionally intimate at the current time, casual sex and such isn't going to happen.

Tinder is used by practically anybody who's dating, people on other websites also have accounts on tinder. There isn't fragmentation

I don't mind feminists, I just think people who collectivize in groups and don't yield results just like to hear their own voices under the veil of "awareness". Sitting in a room at the pub isn't changing the world, if you act like you're making change then you're just in it for self flattery. I suppose there's a lack of focus in these meetings: Is it taking a legislative approach where you're looking to apply pressure on the government to legislate change? Are you looking to use the meeting as a venting mechanism, wounds of deadly hate pierced so deep into your soul that reconcile meant isn't an option?

I like people that are genuine and principled. Feminists are no different really, there are segments of every political group that use the idea logical platform to express their subjective truths.

Also, there are many possessed by their ideology. Particularly woman who feel vulnerable in what they define as a patriarchal society (I think a capitalist oligarchy is more along the lines), instead of putting themselves on an equal playing field they act as if they're always on their backfoot: instead of asserting themselves on an individual level that they are infact equal to the male counterpart, what they do is comply with this patriarchal system by repeatedly announcing their lack of inequality. Stockholm syndrome really: If you want to be equal to males in terms of social relationships, assert yourself as if you were so. Do not try to favour the other person, charisma is important. Are you going to leave the decision of who's equal in the hands of the beholder, enforcing a state of patriarchy where you have to convince the man you are equal, or are you going to assert your equality as necessary?

Pursuing legislative equality is entirely different from social dynamics. Social dynamics are competitive, begging someone with a competitive advantage to a position of disadvantage is foolish.

Lastly, separate yourself from the ideology. They are all shackles that limit your understanding.

But honestly I just dislike talking about ideologies. Why? They're systems of thought, restricted by the narrow domain the ideology hopes to achieve. I mean really, there are no advancements in the meta-narrative of these movements so I don't see why it harbours so much discussion. I mean if everyone understands the principles, why not consider the application?

What is feminism? Explanation.

What are feminists? Followers of feminism.

Are all people who purport to be feminists solely motivated by female equality? Not exactly, people have ulterior motives, complexes that shroud their view, and depending on the individuals emphasis of the ideology: they seek to dominate others in discussion.

What is communism? Explanation.

What are communists? Followers of communism.

Are all the people who purport to be communists solely motivated by the noble cause of their ideology? No, absolutely not.

You get the point.

Maybe I actually have food poisoning from raw eggs! I've hit the nail on the head.

Edit: what seems like a casual statement is actually quite gruesome, it just goes to show how we can normalise statements that are quite gruesome but never bat an eye.

My whole life I had never had vertigo once, I decided to see If I was immune, so I spun in a rolly chair for about 5 minutes. Now I get sick if I spin for about 15seconds.

I think the way you drive shows what type of person you are deep down.
Some people are the floor it and slam on the brakes type, some of us drive like grandmas.

I just like squids, and searched squid man, but you're right... I settled on this because of the lovecraftian atmosphere. Do you like it?

I first went with an artistic rendition of ma mug, but it scared PS, so I ended up with this.

I thought you'd ask. It's a scene from Prelude to Foundation by isaac asimov. It's a depiction (I think) of where Hari Seldon and Chetter hummin meet in a park on the planet Helion. Hari Sheldon has a theory called psychohistory where he can accurate predict the future based on mathematics and social beliefs, interesting concept. Anyways, this was the start of a 10, 000 year leap in the universe when it was orderly, after the first book society begins to crumble and Seldon's equations are used to bring the universe back to order within 10,000 years instead of 1,000,00 years, he predicts the rise and fall of empires to attaining this grand order.

In hindsight after the whole series, this moment was the most peaceful moment. Innocence incarnate.

Oh, they are wearing those personal, nuclear force field thingies? I read the first book many years ago, but details are lost. Perhaps I should pick the series up, again. It was good, but not as mind bending as it must have been in the fifties. I much preferred it to Dune, though. I could never get into that.

The nuclear force field was the second foundation book (2nd in the trilogy) while the Prelude to Foundation was a prequel to the trilogy.

Maybe it is the nuclear force fields but I interpreted it as a scene on the bench of trantor (Just realised it was trantor, not helios) in the Prelude. The Prelude was by far my favourite.

There's a difference of opinion on the order of reading the foundation novels and their prequels, the foundation trilogy has Hari Seldon as a mysterious figure and you try to discover what pyschohistory is, who Hari Seldon is and what his plan is for the foundation. I really enjoyed the first two prequels and didn't finish the main trilogy. The prequels are kind of one cohesive story while the trilogy is a series of short stories. They both complement each other, but the essential difference is which slice of pie are you willing to take first: can you enjoy short stories without the mystery if you know Hari's intent? Or, can you hold out in understanding anything about Hari Seldon, going through 10,000 years (Parallel it to human evolution), and then after all of that you find out the true meaning of the foundation and how he predicted all the events? It's a hard question to answer really, the prequels were wrote 40 years after the main trilogy, the main trilogy being short stories across time fused together.

@Marbles What persona are you going for currently with that profile picture: Lovecraftian horror? Return to R'lyeh at the depths of the ocean you wretched sea cretin!

once I move out im going to print 100 pictures of shia labeouf saying just do it, and use them as wall paper in my new apartment.

I've had two seemingly unrealistic movie moments in the past 3 Days:

1. A girl in my work while walking past me said "You're a snack", thought that only happened to chads with mustangs attending college in american movies. Not to be rude but I jokingly thought about how she's like way smaller than me and she called me a snack: I'm the 4 pack of snickers and she's the snack size mars bar.

2. Literally someone from my work stole my phone two hours ago. It was a newstart in work, the manager caught them on CCTV. Stealing my phone on christmas eve damn what a thugg. Had to walk home without music on christmas and paid for a product I would've otherwise got free with a voucher on my phone! The manager said I had to keep it to myself and let him deal with it because confidentiality but he said he would reimburse me with a phone. Since the phone that was stolen was on contract and I think I could probably got reimbursed by my contract provider, I may get two phones.

I'm not sure, I did explain to my manager that I could call my contract provider and something would be sorted but he said the workplace would pay for it. But yeah, I think it's quite movie like: I get my phone stolen on christmas eve, queue the emotional despondency of losing an equivalently valuable prized item like a present or money, and you got a typically sad christmas setting the movie scene.

Actually just looked up reimbursement, pretty sure I didn't buy insurance. Even though it's tempting to take this as a lesson and insure future products I gotta stick with the fact that insurance is a scam.

Australian Christmas is weird to me. I miss the freezing cold.

But yeah, unfortunately I've had my share of damaging UV exposure from when I first arrived here and spent many weekends climbing up various cliff faces. Got too many freckles. I didn't enjoy the sun but I liked the problem solving and my mates were determined to get out there even when temperatures were exceeding 30 C. Surprisingly, my skin is still fairly intact compared to Australians my age. But people have finally stopped talking to me like I'm a child because I don't dye my grey hairs, haha.

If someone held a gun to my head and asked when valentines day is, I couldnt even tell them the month.
Its christmas, and we have no snow. Im going to celebrate with caffeinated drinks and watching 22 jump street.
Happy christmas bitches.
I think Ive had another day where my calorie intake is lower than my caffein intake. Probably shouldnt have too many of these days, for my beat-to-shit heart.

I explained evolution to my +80yr old Christian grandfather by saying "you're the weed that god missed", in reference to how he weeds his garden and every time the weeds get harder to spot.

Untitled-1.jpg

Mind you he was the one that brought up the subject of religion at the dinner table by saying "so where do you reckon I'll go after I die" so if I'm tactless at least we know where I got it from.

Oh and that was after a game in which we flip over our place-mats and answer the question written underneath them, my grandfather's was "what is your theme song?" to which my uncle joked to my aunt (his sister) "preparing for dad's funeral already are we?"

My family are all awful people and I love them for it.

@Serac

AMD stocks keep going up and it's virtually guaranteed they'll be adapted in the future to replace NVIDIA and Intel for a number of reasons:

-Combining the functionality of a CPU and GPU into one singular APU
-Low power consumption, lower price brackets and increasingly creeping into higher-profit markets
-Ridiculous amount of cores and threads compared to it's competitor in various of AMD's cpu architecture

4922

3 years in the top ten for performance.

Guess what guys, I was thinking with my brain and I came up with this amazing idea:

Since it's christmas, and people wish each other a happy christmas, I am going to extend this idea to everyone here, along with everyone on every social media account. It's just going to be constant notifications for everybody at all angles, they'll be reading "merry christmas" so much that by the time they respond to all the greetings christmas will be over.

@Rebis AMD has a price/earnings ratio of 240 (which is fucking insane), intel has 14. So it seems the market agrees with your analysis and has astronomical expectations for the future performance for AMD, thus having driven up the price. Moreover, AMD has a profit margin of 3%, Intel has 30%. All this might very well change if demand for AMD processors increases, but even if that happens it seems the market has priced this in and then some, so if anything, I would short AMD at these levels.

and btw when it comes to APU, wasn't this the reason AMD struggled to catch up to Intel over the last 10 years? From what I understand they focused on APU because of the tablet hype which never materialized. If I'm right here, it's an example of how a story about some particular aspect of a stock might sound all nice and promising but then turn out to be a negative factor in the future. Things are complicated out there. What I would start looking at here at the outset would be: what market segments are these various areas of focus aimed at; is it mobile, laptop, gaming-PCs, gaming consoles, etc, and what's the outlook for these segments. Do they focus on consumer market or businesses or specific industries etc. Having 16 cores or whatever is nice, but who is the intended costumer.

Well APUs didn't fit 10 years ago as we hadn't reached photo-realism in games, even 20 years ago for that matter when we look at 3D polygonal animations. Since we have reached photo-realism and there doesn't seem to be an improvement in graphical fidelity (2K is more than adequate for 99% of people, upgrade from SCART to HD was the biggest leap in visual quality for everybody). So the necessity for a powerful GPU dedicated entirely to graphics and a CPU for task management was necessary in the past.

Dedicated GPUs are still being used for advanced 3D software modelling and complex AIs use them utilising TensorFlow (Even though this is restricted to Nvidia's CUDA architecture you can emulate this on AMD and it COMPLETELY knocks the performance): I Believe Tensorflow has created a Common Runtime Language that translates both GPU architectures into Assembly language, though graphics drivers are still superior for NVIDIA. Below is the performance of various AMD and NVIDIA cards: Radeon Vega Frontier priced at $400, Tesla V100 ($13,500):

4926

The above I found online, I'm trying to discern the measurement of the x-axis, I've eliminated Hashrate, I think it could be TERAFLOPS (not running deeplearning Algorithms in Tensorflow, though)or Throughput. Leaving this here until the source is found.

EDIT: It's just running TensorFlow in general.

In terms of DataCenters for CPUs AMDs EPYC processors vs Intel's Xeon processors provides more cores, more threads and crazy power usage, a short article highlighting a few comparisons:

Competing with Nvidia in the DataCentre for GPUs, NVIDIA still have a lead as nvidia aren't going to give CUDA to AMD and dataCentres adopting multiple architectures isn't common, it's like adapting two different ISAs.

@Serac Waiting for AMD short sellers so I can buy at a lower price but it hasn't happened in the last 2-3 weeks. :(

Over christmas I seen the dad, he said I was too intense with my awareness. "Do you ever just relax?" I think this is becoming a common suggestion to me. I feel a lot more relaxed now that I don't go out drinking and go through a process of recovery, but I'm still consistently hyper-aware. Like I have little downtime, at least it doesn't feel like downtime. And now I'm thinking like how will I go on dates with people if they talk about TV shows, or obscure albums/artists? I have too much ostracizing characteristics in terms of romance, I know people are interested in me but I think people have problems with relating to me. Maybe I'm disconnected from reality, or just too invested in it.
