This deserves its own thread IMO.

I'd rather not have an entire thread dedicated to that issue. At the time, it was a random thing I wanted to vomit into the void.

I know that state borders are just lines on a map, but I think we can all tell when we've crossed a border, without having to be told.

I make horrible decisions in my dream, like sex in public or putting mushrooms in people's anus.

The best things about decisions in dreams is that I usually forget the dream a few minutes later but have to live with real-life decisions forever.

I had a lucid dream once and in it I made 2 decisions: I flew and I banged a hot ass chick.

Those are high-quality decisions if you ask me.

A theory about why INTPs have so few friends: when you are self-conscious in social situations, you appear as less trustworthy because you will constantly manage other's perception of you.

That's part of it definitely. Another part might be silence taken for dishonesty or a holding back of judgmental thoughts. Another might be reserve taken for haughtiness. Another might be a reluctance to expend energy engaging other people socially that leaves them to do all the work and de-incentivizes the maintenance of the rapport :cat:

But that's all been mentioned somewhere, sometime. And I'm INTJ anyway, if higs is to be believed.

Yes the energy thing is definitely important. If one doesn't match their energy and fall way below, that is taken as a dismissive sign. I have felt that myself when I have met people even more introverted than me. You feel somewhat offended.

But to me, the thing with managing other's impression of you is an interesting paradox, almost. Because the only way to mitigate that is to become less socially aware, in some sense. Obviously there is a balance, as you don't want to come off as socially retarded, but at the same time you have to trust that you can act like your natural self without fearing becoming socially rejected by everyone.

For my entire life up until a minute ago, I never knew what the phrase "knock on wood" meant. I've always heard it from random people at random times and never noticed a pattern that would hint me towards its meaning. I never bothered to ask since it was never important for me to do so and so I wouldn't look dumb for not knowing what such a common saying means. Now that I finally consult google, I realize it's quite pointless and stupid. I will never use this term in casual conversation.

When a person is sedated and does things they act like a zombie and do not know what they are doing until later, not sedated. That is me in my dreams. I am sedated, I do stuff and I am only consciously aware I did stuff when I wake up. Every time I am conscious in my dream automatically it is a lucid dream. I am never conscious in my dream and not aware I am dreaming. I never believe the dream is real, I know I am in a dream when conscious. My dreams feel like I am in a cave.

I work out many of my problems in my sleep through this lucidity and I have a pure conscious thought that allows me to tackle problems(during my lucid dreams). I believe off of scientific analysis and inferences that during your dreams you have the most access to your subconscious and unconscious mind so I try to take advantage of it with the mind-set/state that I can figure out more about problems with this access as long as I don’t necessarily put it into words and keep it with my subconscious throughout the day sorta like an intj with my inferences(Ni) then use that as a sorta cache to use for my introverted thinking and slowly dig out these subconscious thoughts with my mind through out the day into my consciousness

What if we're the science project of some alien kid from a super long-lived species? And he created an entire semi-intelligent race to show how hubris alone can terraform an entire planet into something far friendlier to their greenhouse-gas-loving selves. But being a school project, it's big, unwieldy, and ultimately of little value, since they generally just use something way more sophisticated like bottled concentrated farts.

Go to Seminar.
They ask you to fill out a survey.
Servey Question asks:
What is your Life Goal?
Your answer.
Get killed by Fire.
Later on that day.
Tells friends you had a good time at the seminar.

went the other day to the center of the city and drank like 5 beers plus 1 rum+cola
came back home driving, alcohol test waiting for me almost at my door, results: 0.19, all cool because it is permitted until 0.25
i was curious and checked some websites for the levels of alcohol on vein and was pretty surprised to see all the apocalyptical stuff they write about it, apparently with 0.19 my tongue would speak parcel and experience severe mood swings and probably i would feel depressed.
i thought i was super calm and in control all the time, even too awake to joke with the traffic inspector, dude i was so bright that i parked my car super nicely and laugh about the fact i was going to take the test even when i knew i had been drinking for a while...
what i do have experienced lately is that i get sleepy / high pretty quickly even tho i never go fully drunk.

huh. Where is that?

Generally in the USA BAC cutoff seems to be at .08 (two drinks) before being considered legally drunk. You would be considered well past the boundary here.

Spain, here the top is 0.5 which is 0.25mg or smth like that.
What surprised me was that I drank at least 5 large cans and one rum cola and after that I scored so low.

@Gudoldrama you must have been extremely drunk when you read off 0.19 after that amount of drinking. Or your equipment is broken. You wouldn't have that kind of level until well into the next day.

here's one i had recently I asked myself why the heck does people listen to music ?why and how did we come to produce it ? why is it enjoyable to hear a voice on a certain rhytm going from crescendos to tenors and to hear instruments doing sounds , when you think about it, it seems pretty weird.. I could just link the fact that for example when you hear a sad piano piece, it s often slow, and the notes have wide intervals between them, and that to some extent can be similar to the way that someone cries or screams or tells a sad/tragic story, so there might be a link there, and the same with cheerful piano pieces, it sounds like when somebody is laughing or telling a cheery story, fast beats etc.. I didn't look it up first to have an empiric aproach. sorry for the bad english it's not my native language. any thoughts or remarks on music etc ?

About 50% of the time I end up going to a McDonlads restaurant, I get very close to punching someone in the face. Those restaurants seem to attract the lowest form of garbage people out there – drunks, people who cut the line, people who don't know how to behave in public spaces, and various other savages. The food itself is pretty good though.

Drive through solves most of those problems, at least artificially because you don't know what those other people are actually doing.

I just need to get this out there – for cathartic purposes. There is this song that is regularly played when I'm at the gym, which I'm pretty sure is the shittiest music ever produced by humankind. It's so fucking disgustingly utter trash that it sends me into a depression when I am forced to listen to it. I would love to know what sort of depraved, soulless hominids out there are actually consuming this abomination. Fuck you to whomever made this shit and whomever likes it.

Here it is:

i agree, if there's any good reggaeton, then it's the old reggaeton, 1998-2005 era, after that, only bullshit.
i enjoy watching football, it's kind of an easy entertainment, probably because of the drama, more than anything else, the memes people create and so on, i was skeptic about it as well but my friend convinced me to watch portugal vs spain in a bar last week and it totally changed me! just look how round everything looks. y9lZJVh.jpg

Going on almost no sleep for 2 days in a row is weird fucking experience. Eventually you don't wanna eat nor sleep nor do anything. You just exist in this weird limbo state.

Another funny thing is that all food stops tasting anything, and all music stops sounding pleasant. In fact most stimulus becomes bland and annoying.

I'm curious to what degree various animals feel sympathy, meaning to what degree they are able to understand/ empathize with the pain in other animals that is similar to what they themselves experience. And what factors it depends on. Like, are cats able to sympathize when they observe body language of pain and maybe visible wounds in other cats? They don't seem to be concerned with the mice they kill, so if they are able to feel deep sympathy, it might be dependent on familiarity.

Or maybe there exist individual cats who do feel sympathy with mice and never hunts/ hurts them? Thinking about it, I did use to fish myself, even though I knew fish felt pain. So I guess it's possible to kill other animals indifferently even when you're periodically able to sympathize with them (well, I always did feel pretty bad and uncomfortable about cutting the throat of the fish I caught when I used to fish so I guess it's not clear cut even when knowledge exist). It would be pretty crazy if there exists cats out there who never hunts mice because they sympathize with them, I mean, that would mean those individual cats were better at sympathising with other species, than me when I was 18.

This one ditsy Swedish girl decided to protest the deportation of an Afghan convicted criminal (link) from Sweden by making a scene inside an airplane. Now she faces criminal charges herself because, well.. when you mess with airplanes you can expect repercussions. But of course, she doesn't have the balls to admit guilt in that. If she at least did that, I could respect this as an act of civil disobedience. Now, when she does these things and expects to walk scot-free, it means she assumed she was doing this without skin in the game. As long as you are aligned with PC narratives, you can do whatever the hell you want, right? Making a scene in a commercial airplane? "No problem, I'm getting a ton of likes on facebook for this".

I just recalled this one incident which is sort of amusing and interesting from a psychological point of view. A while back I ran into an old friend of mine, whom I hadn't seen for a long time. He had his girlfriend with him, whom I had never met before, so we were introduced and shook hands. However, after saying hello and getting ready to pull back my hand, it became apparent that she wasn't letting go. She sort of paused while holding my hand, stared at me and said something like "You are the [insert my name here]? I have heard a lot about you". This made me very freaked out, for some very strange reason. It sounds crazy to me as well and there's no rational explanation for it, but this combination of having my hand held captive and being told that she knew things about me made me extremely uncomfortable. Like, to the point where I had trouble talking properly. I pretty much just stammered my way through the rest of the interaction until we parted ways. To this day I have no clue what caused that reaction.
