Every job I look up lists "attention to detail" as an asset. What job is there for people like me who don't pay close attention to detail???

Oh dear, are you totally new to the job market?

There are two things you should know about job adds:

1. They are created by HR people who are usually clueless about the actual job requirements and like pretty phrases such as: "Goal Oriented", "Attention to Detail" and "Team Work"
2. No one expects you to be honest when answering an add.

So - if you like a job just apply and feel free to ignore all the requirements that don't include actual written proof of qualifications.

Cool thanks!

I'm not new to the job market, but I am trying to get back to work after a 4 year hiatus. I used to think I possessed all those things that a job ad lists, but I am now much more realistic.

Thanks again :)

2. No one expects you to be honest when answering an add.

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Makes you wonder why we even bother.

Amen. Honesty is a hard fought battle on a daily basis to maintain one's own integrity, yet worn away endlessly by corporate BS in the name of competitive advantage or C.Y.A. to avoid being next on the slaughter house floor of layoffs.
