True. But I think his strongest traits are actually some sort of NT (either INTP or INTJ, with more likelihood that he's an INTJ). While being so rational and objective, he does have his moments of compassion and ethical concern, much like an NF.

But, I think that's because Gandalf is a fictional character. They aren't real, so their characteristics won't always be logically consistent or correlate to real personalities in all ways possible. I think he's a crazy fictional fusion of NF and NT.

If I remember correctly, Majere is a manipulative and scholarly magic-user who pretends to love a priestess so that he could gain access to something and kill the gods to become the deity of knowledge or whatever.
The priestess part is just some weird backstory thing that was necessary because they were in different and opposing ancient orders or whatever.
I was genuinely upset when he gave up all of that because of his bumbling idiot sibling who waved around sharp weapons.
Otherwise I enjoyed the series.
