View Full Version : IN SEARCH OF RARE BOVINE...

Kidege was being psychic, when he presented US with a Gift-Link to an article about INTJ-INTP interactions, which contained the following passage.
"Find a non-threatening way to tell them that they have skipped ahead and missed telling you a step or context. My husband and I use the phrase "You've gone off to visit the cows." Sometimes the goal and endpoint aren't the most important thing to an INTP. While the INTJ is focused and determined to march to the end of the road with only minimal concern for what is "out there", the INTP has discovered a herd of rare bovines and has merrily run off to examine them. The INTJs ultimate goal may be "just something" (and not even an interesting something) to the INTP. Get used to this. You can't turn them into an INTJ, don't try. Let them have their time then gently tell them that they have run off to visit the cows. Look at what they bring back. Sometimes it IS more important and interesting than the stated goal".
http://community.livejournal.com/intj/102341.html
I actually found this forum, while on such a 'Quest for the Elusive Rare Bovine', and the Quest itself was a result of a distraction from another goal (something practical, but boring if I remember... oh yeah trying to find employment)
However, I find found the most interesting stuff when I am not looking for it. I bet, if I set out to find something interesting in a certain subject, I simply could not do it. However, on the journey there and back something shiny would catch my eye and I would be 'forced' to investigate...
That being said I am quite sure than Other INtpians have a collection of bright and shiny interesting things that they have accumulated on various and sundry quests in cyberspace. Since INTPians are renown for their good taste, I would be interested in seeing what you have found, but Kidege has set a tough standard to follow...
Of course, any donation of Gift-Links will be housed in the soon to built Rare Bovine wing of the LINKS library (see kianara)

Bovines are ESTJ.
I have seen one of these beat up an INTP because she wanted to go to the party and the ESTJ forbade it. She went any way:
http://soredragon.blogspot.com/2008/11/chapter-27-pet-shop-bears.html
The description is not very good on this one. I was concentrating on the caustic sound of distress. We are better off with the Wolf Lady (ENTJ), despite the excessive servicing and her impatience.
Go Dragon hiding (INFP) to drive her up the wall.

Or at least have a nice list/chart explaining what hell you're talking about. I'm interested in what you're saying, but I can't understand because you don't explain.
Edit: I just realized that asking an INTP for "a nice list/chart explaining" ANYTHING will get me nowhere. *headdesk*

You could refer to them according to their DNA sequences.

Actually I believe that man-beast analogies have a long honored history in literature.
perhaps to be more politically correct (whatever than means) Perseus could translate his categories into vampires, werewolves, centaurs, minotaurs, video game characters etc?

I don't know about that - the Dwarves I know are such socialites, always hangin' with a group of their peers. (strength in numbers, feeling inadequate because of size?)
It seems that INTPs are more the Scout-Explorer-Wanderer independent type?

I think ESTPs would be Kender (Dragonlance Chronicles)
If we're giving types fantasy-race classifications, I'd make INTPs half-elves.

On second thoughts, I guess INTPs would be the rogue wizard, wandering from place to place, searching for knowledge. :)
Dwarfs are also too much occupied with their craftmanship.

Dwarves are Artisans using trees in their furnaces. The Sylan Elves live in the forets and protect the trees.
Seven hundred elves from out the wood
Foul and grim they were
He felled the oak, he felled the birch, the beech nor poplar spared
And much was grieved the sullen elves at what the stranger dared
He hewed him baulks and he hewed him beams with eager toil and haste
Then up and spake the woodland elves: ``Who's come our wood to waste?''
Up and spake the biggest elf and grimly rolled his eyes:
"We'll march upon the dwarven house and hold on him assize

Okay here is my POV on MBTI Types/Man-beasts
INTJ s are Vampire-Elves (or at least vampish Elvis h impersonators)
INTPs are Beastmasters/Beast Mistresses with ‘links’ to Eagles and Hawks, Ferrets and tigers etc, but not humans.
ENTJs are Alpha-type herd/troop/pack leaders (minotaurs)
ENTPs are Otter People, Silkies, Merpeople
INFPs are dragons, reptiles, crocodiles
INFJs are Bird Brains, but have support from the Old Egyptian gods
ENFPs are Ferrets, Rummagers, Street people
ENFJs are Coyote (Native American lore) the Fox in “The Little Prince” the archetypal Trickster
ISTPs are Gullible Bearish Trolls
ISTJs are Dog people, predators, loyal mystics
ESTPs are Carnivores, Werewolves, Predators
ESTJs are Rats, but since the numerous rodents rule the Democracy they are usually BureaucRats
ISFPs are Gargoyles at day, Cats at night
ISFJs are the “Defenders of the Status Quo” Zombies and Mummies
ESFPs are Butterfly-Fairies, rulers of the phyla of Insects
ESFJs are Inn Keepers with alter egos as the Dark Horses the Queen of the Fairies and her minions ride while on the Great Hunt

of course, but that is what is available thru the telepathic link already...
Be aware of the mistake of shifting to a bird brain in the transition,
It is so seductive, because you are not aware that you are a bird, you think you are whatever it is you're flying over ...
You Are the Mountains - You Are the Ocean...
It takes a while to get bored with such a POV and shift back...

Is the Vampire thing serious?
So you're saying that while INTPs are unable to fit in/communicate with human society, INTJs will prey on the poor fools and suck their blood/kill them coldly?
I would almost be offended, except that now all I can think of is Hannibal Lector... an INTJ (Clarice Starling is an INTJ too, but Lector is the typical example.)

I would rather see INTJs as Lichs.
A lich converts itself into a skeletal creature by means of necromancy, storing its soul in a magical receptacle called a phylactery. In some sources the method of becoming a lich is referred to as the Ritual of Endless Night. The lich creation process is often described as requiring the creation and consumption of a deadly potion which is to be drunk on a full moon; although the exact details of the potion are described differently in various sources, the creation of the potion almost universally entails acts of utter evil, such as using as an ingredient the blood of an infant slain by the potential lich's own hand, or other, similarly vile components. The potion invariably kills the drinker but if the process is successful he rises again some days later as a lich. Occasionally, this metamorphosis occurs by accident as a result of life-prolonging magic.
Unlike most other forms of undead creatures, the lich retains all of the memories, personality, and abilities that it possessed in life — but it has a virtual eternity to hone its skills and inevitably becomes very powerful. Like other powerful forms of undead (such as a vampire or mummy), a lich has unnatural powers owing to his state. For example, he can put mortals in a paralyzed state of hibernation with a touch, making them seem dead to others, and can, through his typically powerful magical spells, summon other lesser undead to protect him. Liches can radiate an aura of horror which can send weak-willed would-be foes to flight. The lich is capable of sustaining tremendous physical damage, and is immune to disease, poison, fatigue and other effects that affect only the living. However, despite all his undead "gifts", a lich's most valuable resources are his vast intellect, his supreme mastery of sorcery and limitless time to research, plot and scheme.
Since a lich's soul is mystically tied to its phylactery, destroying its body will not kill it. Rather, its soul will return to the phylactery, and its body will be recreated by the power keeping it immortal. Thus the only way to permanently destroy a lich is to destroy the phylactery as well. Therefore, the lich will generally be extremely protective of the priceless item. The phylactery, which can be of virtually any form (the default form is a metal box filled with rune-covered papers, but it usually appears as a valuable amulet or gemstone), will often be hidden in a secret place and protected by powerful spells, charms, monsters and/or other servants; the phylactery itself is usually of magical nature, meaning its destruction will generally be little easier than attaining it.

INTJs (who think they are always right) could be a Lych OWL in a "necromancer" darkness variant.
Necromancer from the recommended fantasy writer Clark Ashton-Smith. Later writers like Frank Herbert (INTJ imitators) copied his style (outright plagiarism in places). CA Smith was INTP with very high perception.

I have no idea what exactly a lych owl is. I guess itīs some kind of obscure bird.
Surely most of the necromancers are INTJ.
Who else should long to control the undead - the brainless, those without an own will, the ever hungry - to crush the weak and legitimate his own world order?
Ah, and I see INTPs more as Dragons. They are mostly powerful and extremely intelligent creatures who prefer to stay alone, far away from civilization. Usually they hoard incredible treasures and sleep on them with no interest to give them away.
People fear them even if the dragon is not actually evil and they often get killed by stupid SJ-heroes. When the dragon rests in his lair, itīs hard to wake him, but if you do so, you should better have a very good reason.

Very good. Seperate animals with four legs from the flying types. Many people can shape-shift which just means variations in type according to circumstances, the most typical being the change to Extroversion.
Spiders are ESFP in a different phylum.

Hey Perseus
What about the shadow personas, amina & animus?
I could not help but notice (after the fact) that my classifications
suggested a day time - night time transformation for several types
INTJ by day a harmless Elf, but by night a Vampire
INTP by day a recluse, but at night an Eagle etc
ENTP by day a human, by night a Seal
ESTP by day a human, by moonlit night a werewolf
ESTJ by day a gov't worker, by night a Rat
ISFP by day Gargoyles, by night Cats
ESFJ by day innkeeper, by night a Fairy's Steed
