Am I the only one who hated Avatar? I seem to get looks like I am crazy when I talk about this. It just didn't do it for me. For an action movie it seemed very bland and static. That scene where they attack the tree seemed like they were just shooting at a tree. And it was a big tree, not hard to hit. That is target practice not action.
The world seemed to be a rip off of Roger Dean, but it really didn't have a fantastic feel. When I look at Deans works I think of magic and new age crystal power. What I got was blue space cat Injuns. And I mean that in a semi insulting sort of way. They are almost what stupid white people think when you say Native American. Not a particular tribe with a history and customs but some generic living close to nature idealized fantasy. I would have enjoyed it more if they had a culture like the Chaco Canyon people or the Anasazi.

I'm with you. I think the whole point of the movie was the CGI visuals, which were definitely fantastic, but that's not enough for me to enjoy a movie. The plot was hackneyed and cheesy, and the dialogue was painfully bad.

The first movies' plot was intended for burgeoning adolescents and borderline retarded adults, so the sequel might go quite well at the box office.

The thread is in regard to: Avatar: The last Airbender, the anime? series from nickelodeon.
I'm excited about it, not sure yet with that first episode, wasn't too happy with all the connections they started making with the old series, but we'll see.

Where was the action, i was hoping for an action movie. I was let down even on that meager requirement.
